Jermaine Jenas seems to be like Marmite, but I can't make up my mind whether I want him to stay or not. I do like him overall, I suppose, and we seem to struggle without him, he just seems like such a let down, presumably because I expect more of him. He's provided moments like the 2-2 equaliser against Arsenal from 30 yards, the lovely left footed curled 3rd goal in the 4-4, and the solo run against derby, and then at other times he plays like he did against Hull. I know he was not 100% match fit but he does have games like that in the season.

Pros
Fantastic Engine
Good work ethic
Decent short passer
Versatile

Cons
Inconsistent

I don't know whether I've had enough or if I'm prepared to wait just one more season for him to take the games by the scruff of the neck, week in week out, rather than 1 in 6.

Outside of the SKY 4 the better all round central midfield players in the Premiership are?

i voted stay.. i like him as a footballer, okay so he's not a gerrard or lampard but they are hard to find and i think a good partnership with wilson is only going to get better this year, look at our performances when they played together last year.. coys!

I went with stay as well, but he still annoys me  Although maybe having a settled partner in the middle who will work hard will bring the best out of him.

I voted to keep him. He's a great all-rounder and I think we're better for having him. I think people's opinions of his inconsistency are great exagerated.

Stay, you don't improve the squad by selling first team starters. He needs competition but that's it.

If we sell him we'll simply find another scapegoat, look how quickly Keane lost his popularity.

This poll proves that most like JJ and the partnership he has with Palacios.

And it also proves the JJ haters are much louder than the ones who like him. haha

Even if we do get an upgrade on him to play with WP, he should still be kept in the squad. We'd be absolutely mad to let him go.

I would have voted 'go' but only with the proviso that we replace him with a superior replacement.

Stay. We'd be mad to sell him without bringing in a quality replacement and I just don't see who we might get. He is also willing and able to cover other positions and he's been at our club for a fair few years, including our most successful Premier League seasons and our most recent cup win.

'pros - versatile' ..... He's not versatile.

And either stay for backup and get a good attacking midfielder in who can also defend well, or go for £10mill +.

Who would you replace him with once you had that 10 million in your pocket?

Why would anyone want him to go?

He has a more than bit of everything including one of the best engines for a central midfielder in the PL. He's dependable and when you take away the responsibility of making him one of the key creators in the team (not his forté), he releases a lot of the pressure from the rest of our attacking players.

Michey, you post some good stuff on this forum, but I believe you're way out on this one.

Dos Santos, im sure he could do a good job there.
O'Hara could be given a chance.

And we could always buy someone like Cahill in a swap and cash with Jenas. Or Arteta. There are others but i cant remember them atm lol

EDIT: Or maxi rodriguez

Isn't that always the case though?

Half the time I can't be bothered to expend energy on those who have absolutely no idea of what is and isn't beneficial to the team (for any argument in general, not this one in particular).
