How about we don't buy any central midfielder and let those we already have get used to each other and improve their understanding?

Zokora, Jenas, Huddlestone, Ghaly, Taarabt and Tainio. Surely more than enough?

Spurssince57 has always had a downer on Barton. Give him a chance he would do wonders in our midfield.

Anyone with half a brain would have a downer on Barton. Look at the fucking facts, for Christsake. I can understand some City supporters ignoring his record, blaming Pearce, Keegan, crap foreign signings, anyone but Barton himself, but people like you saying 'Give him a chance'? Fuck me gently. Have we had a major IQ drop around here or what?

Tell you what: let's sign Barton, and while we're at it let's see if the Spammers will let us have Bowyer. And hey, why not tempt Ferguson out of retirement?

Some twat is going to compare the **** to Mackay, Mullers or Roberts before long. And I have my censor-evasion response ready and waiting.

How about we dont sign any racist psycho thugs.

Could not agree more.

Barton is no way the solution. Surely there is someone else out there other than him. Anyone rather than him please. We have so much to loose if the wrong character is allowed in to the fold. We have a great spirit now and a prick like Barton would be very unwise.

It would just take all the focus away from the key areas we need to build. All we would be talking about would be how lairy Barton is and what a discrace it is he wears the shirt!

:duh:

The list of offences he's committed is long and very shameful. I can't imagine he'd be too welcome in most dressing rooms after putting a cigar out in a team mate's eye and then battering another one senseless. He may be talented, but we have decent midfielders who don't behave like brainless wankers. I am sure there are better options out there, and I would avoid Barton at all costs.
Didn't he lay into some young Everton fan as well?

Michael Dawson wasn't good enough or special enough to take us forward, because he played for Forest the other year.

Some of you forget that players can have lashings of potential at shit clubs and develop when they come here.

Can we persuade big Dunc... I bet we could get him for peanuts, let's do it! I heard the Krays have a couple of relatives that are handy on the ball too!

Reminds me when 5 years ago there were people calling us to buy Bowyer as solution to about everything. Glad Levy didn't sanction it even if as a player Bowyer of 5 years ago (which happens to be age gap between Barton and Bowyer) was 10 times the player compared to that talentless City thugh.

Anyone who wants Joey Barton needs their head examined.

A bit of spice in the squad is worthwhile - a fruitbat who can't channel his agression is not.

Wouldn't want him even if he was close to Roy Keane talentwise, but fact that he is closer to Vinnie Jones makes demands of purchase quite frankly ridiculous.

Barton imo is just another very good player below the international class level. We have plenty of players in his quality and while his ability would be a good addition to the squad his attitude and team work aren't worth it.

He's nothing special and we should look elsewhere

If you really think you want Barton have a read of this from today's Guardian:
http://football.guardian.co.uk/News_Story/0,,2071108,00.html
and ask yourself - do you really want this animal on or even near our training ground?

If Barton is the solution I'd really rather not know what the question was.

These two replies sum it up for me. Nice one guys

We don't need players like him at our Club. We want to improve, and we want to be in the Champions League in the future. We can do a lot better than him.

Oh, I'm sure the 'Buy Barton' brigade will ignore it as they've ignored every other example of his unfitness to wear our shirt (or anyone else's). I'm reminded of the demented Cairn Terrier my family used to own. You couldn't take the vicious little rat anywhere without it trying to sink its chompers into someone's ankle. My old man sent it for obedience training. It bit the trainer.

I seldom agree with SS57 but our club will be mad to sign him however talented he is. The madhouse is where he should go... He should seek help before his rage gets in a long jail sentence

i can't honestly beleive this has gone on for 6 pages

:bang:

i know plenty of ****s who would be a damn sight cheaper, lets wait until they get out of their electronic tags and we can play them all at the same time!

When Davids was here people whinged cos he was crap and could ONLY tackle, now we want someone who knocks kids about and puts out fags in youth players eyes!

(wasn't there a thread last season with a few touting Defoe for an exit because he knocked a corner flag over? 'petulant fuck' was the phrase, just a thought)

Not to mention the fact that on top of all that Barton is just very average footballer.

I can't believe there are so many people who confuse a psychotic thug with a footballer, but there you go.

There was—and, as I've already mentioned, we had a thread expressing outrage that Mido should have a little dig at Judas. And I may be misremembering, but I believe the member who started that was the same one who kicked this nonsense off.
