If Pickford is off the table and Raya decides to go to United. I'd like us to go for Lafont at Nantes.

I know someone who played against him recently and said he was outstanding. Only going to get better, big lad too.

Lafont would be my first choice of affordable long term replacements for Hugo. However we may have a home grown quota issue so I think Raya will be the clubs first choice.

I’ve always struggled to believe he was the one we were seriously looking at to replace Lloris. Doesn’t have it up top.

Not sure where else to put it, but since it’s goalkeeper related, there were a number of articles yesterday stating we have agreed a deal to sign Altay Bayindir from Fenerbahce in the summer, free transfer as he’s coming out of contract. 24 year old 6ft6 Turkish international, currently seen as the no2 keeper in the national team but pushing to oust the no1 keeper.

Was really concerned about him being genuinely considered as a replacement for Hugo. Can't understand how he's the international number one, as he's a headless chicken, but it's not my nation so not too concerned about that. But I do think we should be taking a serious look at Irelands two young keepers, Bazunu at Southampton and Kelliher playing back up at Liverpool, both are proper sweeper keepers, which is what the game is about nowadays. Plus mental as it may seem, both would probably be cheaper options than Pickford purely based on status.

Would really like us to to go for Kelleher. He's always impressed me for Liverpool and when he's played for us on international duty

I reckon he'll have some get out clauses then. Maybe to cover if "x" club offers a certain amount or if Everton get relegated.

Interesting it doesn’t mention the length of contract. It’s obviously good for morale that he signs, but maybe it’s just a 1-2yr extension.

Just watched MOTD2 highlights of the Everton/Forest match. Pickford spilled every save.

I like keepers that go through matches looking like they haven’t done all that much. The ones that play with an air of calmness even when they’re getting peppered with shots. That’s not Pickford. Everything looks so chaotic with him.

He looks pissed off at every moment in a match.
