If it’s true Jose was sacked for refusing to take training in protest at the Super League it is PR genius by Jose.

Turns out it was results. We all know Jose wouldn't be upset at the thought of more money to spend

I blame Pogba, Shaw and Ole. They showed life after Jose. That interview though must have resonated with Levy in relations to Alli, Winks and Bale.

My sauce (tartare) tells me that Jose got wind that either or both H and Sonny will be leaving in the summer and couldn’t get out of the door quick enough...

Unbelievable isn’t it?

He should call out the other managers to quit in solidarity. Klopp probably will but he’d love to show up Guardiola

General consensus is that the super league stuff is entirely unrelated and that the decision was made by the club on Friday

the guy was a fraud, and anyone who thinks he's getting 15 million , needs there a head fixing

Right? Shows up in the interview with Levy with a binder saying he has a plan etc. Can we open the binder and look in? My bet it's empty.

Either a sudden overnight breakdown in relations or we have someone already lined up.

I think we maybe trying to push with the German guy before Bayern get in. Would prefer Rodgers though if I could pick.
I reckon that he does have someone lined up.

It is a shame it has come to this because I think Jose tried the hardest he could. However, I think the reason he was sacked is ultimately that he fell out with the players and made too many enemies. The implications of this fall out were too much for Levy to accept. It risked losing some of our best players and meant it would be virtually impossible to get the players we want to bring in. The bad results didn’t help but would maybe have been tolerated if the players were happy, the football was enjoyable and a positive future could be glimpsed. Under Jose none of this was happening and it just looked like things would get worse. The are many parallels with the end of his time with United.

I don’t believe he left because of the Super League. If that was the case it would be because he wanted out due to other issues and just used this as an excuse. Jose doesn’t strike me as a quitter and certainly not a quitter who would go without a payoff.

We all knew it was coming but the timing is as cynical as it gets.

If its for what has been suggested by 'Can'tsmile..' its not cynical. Also, if thats the case he will have sympathisers.

I think the main reason is results and failing to make the top four. ('The players' may have been a part of that, of course)
