I agree he had to go, but sacking him six days before the final seems suicidal, Love him or hate him, Jose knows how to win cup finals, and leaving him in place for one more week would hardly have affected our league fortunes in any way. This will leave us rudderless going into the final, City wont believe their luck.

Maybe we’re pinning our hopes on a dead cat bounce. At least we should be a little less predictable.

I think the main reason is results and failing to make the top four. ('The players' may have been a part of that, of course)
Of course, the players are equally culpable for our disappointing season. Player selection and tactics were down to Jose.
Our back four playing like rabbits in headlights wasn't.
Does anyone think he said, for example, to Sanchez, "Hey Davison, next time the other team cross the ball into our penalty area, make sure that their striker gets a free header."
Or... "Hey Matt, when you're clearing the ball out of defence, make sure you pass to an opposition player."

Or will they?
We will be a complete enigma. Even to ourselves.

I think there will be an announcement in next 24 hours as statement said Ryan Mason will be taking first team training and an update will be made in due course
Think it’s unlikely the DL would have pulled the trigger without a replacement ready - similar to happened with Poch
Thinking Nigel will be in - he made a couple of interesting comments over the weekend about not being in talks with Bayern

Poch lost the dressing room! Jose lost the dressing room! Unless Levy removes the rot in the dressing room we will be losing another manager in 18 months.

He has shown us that he can't win anything so maybe we might win it now by playing attacking football with Bale and Ali. I'm actually looking forward to the Final now far more than I was before.

I wholeheartedly disagree.
Pochettino lost the dressing room for different reasons than Mourinho. It's unfortunate, but also accidental in a way, although predictable in another way, that those situations happened so close in time. But I don't think it's systematic among the players. They just got fed up for different reasons with different things. The answer? Bring in somebody new, somebody fresh, and somebody who doesn't end up letting stubbornness get the better of them. Mourinho causes controversy. Pochettino doesn't really look to cause controversy but that was an unfortunate byproduct of the time. Let's get hold of somebody who can unite the group and create a coherent team.

I think the thought process is that you would be insane to sack him after winning a trophy despite the horrible football and erratic PL results. I reckon Levy gave him extra time to see if the football improves and squad harmony gets better.

I’m sure that the board must have thought about that.

pretty sure that Mourinho isn’t a person you would want near the players if the relationship has broken. He had to go - and quick

Nonsense. Poch lost the dressing room when he effectively switched to a JM style wich he now continues at PSG. Because JM also has that style keeping the players happy in the long run was a tough ask.

Maybe a chat with some players haven't left the board convinced they will give their all for JM

And what if they have stopped responding to him because of the way he goes about things?
