Unconfirmed but Moose from Talksport reporting a 12 match ban for Joey.

Such a shame. #reformedcharacter.

Well he sure will be able to read a lot of books during that time, so we can expect some epic tweets. Hopefully he will get into Twain....Sam is always good for some quotes.

Not relevant but wtf are QPR doing? They offered Dyer a contract extension? D:

As for Barton, meh if he could do the same to Arsenal and Chelsea next year then good, Tevez was just as much of an idiot that day, the day that shall not be named.

I'm certainly not condoning what Barton did, but this was far, far worse IMO :

That could have killed him, and I'm being serious.

8 game ban, IIRC?

9 games, but I agree, that was far worse. However, Thatcher got nine games for one charge there, and Barton's got 12 games for three seperate charges, so you could argue that Thatcher's punishment was harsher...

12 game ban for being stupid and petulant when thugs like Cattermole and co go around potentially ending careers and the worst they get is a 3/4 match ban, and often get let off.

Barton acted like a dick, but he wasn't potentially endangering a players career (other than his own).

And I really wish someone hadn't restrained Balotelli when Barton was walking off, that would have been amazing viewing.

If his downturn in form continues, it's probably a boost for QPR's survival ambitions next season not having him in the squad.

I think Barton can count himself lucky the ban wasn't longer, as kicking Aguero and trying to headbutt Kompany was absolutely ridiculous. Di Canio got 11 games for pushing a ref over!

Oh come on.... he lost his rag. Big deal.

He didnt break anyones leg, or attempt to which many players have done in the past and got less. He got wound up and lost his rag, i know he is supposed to be a proffessional but how many times on a Sunday morning are there little spats like that? I would like to see a bit more emotion in football these days.

12 games is harsh.

QPR could move for Jenas according to some gobshite link.
We can now blame Jenas for Barton.

Lets say he connects with his headbutt on Kompany, breaks his nose and gives him a concussion, would it be harsh then?
I'm a firm believer that if you attempt a criminal offence and fail then your punishment should be the same as if you had succeded.

Easily the best sending off I've seen in the Premier League, it just pips Di Canio's Ref incident.
