Nice one for the info mate. Think him not being able to play on his own isn’t ideal but it’s not a Q of can he score More than son would as we need depth and if he plays up top then son and moura and Dele can play behind him and we will still be effective issue is with no back up at all then son plays up top and the attacking players will get burntout with all the games we have coming up. So we need someone and sounds like king could be an ok fit but mabye Chris wood would be slightly better but I’d imagine king will be £5-10m cheaper so that might force our hand.

Do you think Wilson would suit us better than King would?
Wilson would if he stays fit which I know is luck of the draw . In truth even Wilson has really struggled for 12-18 months . Form , being unsettled and maybe knee problems haven’t helped.

despite what some say on here . I think Chris wood or eveningMcburnie at Sheffield Utd would be a better option.

I live in Bournemouth and watch a fair bit of them. King has some qualities in that he can drift out wide mainly to the left side. He is not a target man and rarely plays upfront on his own. His ability in the air and qualities to bring other players into the game are not all that .

I really don’t think he is the answer , for what we need. If Kane was to get injured for 2 months, would he score more goals than son ? Who normally fills in for Kane ! No I don’t think he would . King’s finishing is not great he scores scrappy goals and doesn’t really create chances for himself .

Callum Wilson would definitely score more goals for us

It's not that would he score more goals than Son. Its would he be more effective in terms of enhancing our attacking dynamic, overall, compared to Son who would be a better finisher.

I think he would be. He's more powerful and works harder off the ball than Son.

And it's that hard work that creates more space for Son and Dele in particular to do the finishing.

Interesting. And agree on Wood but McBurnie can’t hit a barn door ?

Chris Wood looks a better goalscorer by far. He's also a tough bastard who will occupy CBs and hold the ball up well. Josh King appears to be better in other aspects of the attack, taking players on and creating chances for others. Personally I think we need a striker with Wood's characteristics moreso than King's.

Mcburnie is still raw he’s a real handful and the sort of player your opponents hate. I think he could do a job in cup games and as a option with the long ball when we need a goal

Not saying no to King. But if given chance Wood v King , I will always pick Wood. Wood when given chances has buried it. Aerially better than Kane and also scores by poaching in the box. To score 14 last season at Burnley is like scoring 20 or 25 at Spurs.
Ofcourse he will be more expensive but IMO he should be our no1 target

The bottom line is King will probably be twice as cheap as Wood so I know which one my money would be on signing.

2019-20 - 5 out of 26 Games at CF 6 Goals
2018/19 - 16 out of 35 Games at CF - 12 Goals
2017/18 - 3 out of 33 Games at CF - 8 Goals
2016/17 - 13 out of 36 Games at CF - 16 Goals
2016/15 - 11 out of 31 Games at CF - 6 Goals

Pretty clear when he plays more regularly as a Striker he will gets more goals.

To me he is the perfect option;
  • He will be good in the early stages of the Cups against weaker teams.
  • He can play with Kane as a 2nd Striker or on the wing.
  • Offers something different coming off the bench with his pace, both if we are winning or losing games.
  • He counts as homegrown, wont cost silly money.
  • He is in his prime, and within 2 Seasons can be replaced by Parrot

Are those his total goals that season or goals whilst playing in the CF position?
