Marca claims that Pedrag Mijatovic, Real Madrid's DOF, has suggested president Calderon the possibility of replacing Bernd Schuster with good old Magic Juande. All this after Real's 3-4 defeat against that funny team which will never want to do any sort of business with us in the future, Sevilla.

How nice can football be sometimes, Juande surely hasn't been affected by the "world financial crisis" lately...

Well one reason they would go for Juande is that in La Liga teams are not allowed to poach another teams manager during the season. So Ramos is probably the best out of work Spanish candidate at the moment. Diarra is now out for the season which is a massive blow for them as they have been even worse than usual defensively without him. Barca IMO will win the the league by at least 10 points this season. Lose El Classico this Saturday and i think Schuster who has already said 'its impossible to beat Barca at home' will get the chop

Juande Ramos gets "Real"

Strong reports today stating that Juande is to take over the Real Madrid hotseat today after the sacking of Bernd Schuster. May I be the first to congratulate Juande on a dream job and wish him the best of luck.

I second that. Good luck JR. Gone but will never be forgoten. Was'nt good enough for us, for some, but good enough for R.Madrid. Given time, the players HE wants and players who do there talking on the pitch rather than the media I'm sure he will be a success!

Schuster comes out with 'tonterias' sometimes. They won there last season, though without the injuries. Agreed that Barca will win the league but can see Villareal running them close. Pellegrini must be the most underrated coach in Europe. I hope and think Ramos could do well but he will have to fight the politics and I don't think the President that hires him will be there long. I saw on Spanish TV yesterday a very aggressive and pugnacious season ticket assembly criticising Calderon.

I'm not convinced this would be the right move for Ramos. I rate Ramos very highly, but i don see Real Madrid as a good move for him. My biggest concern for him (although not really a concern as i support Barca) is that Real Madrid have big problems at the back. When he took over at Sevilla, they were already a very good defensive side. So he was able to transform them into a much better attacking force. But he'll have to sort out the defence at Real Madrid, but wont have too much to do with their attacking play. He showed at Spurs that his biggest strengths were in attack, but we still leaked goals. Since Harry arrived i feel we are already looking more solid at the back with the same players.

What he can bring to Real Madrid though is hard work. He can get them working a lot harder for the ball, and cover more ground. Thats what seperates Barca and Real Madrid at the moment. The hard work and discipline that Pep Guadiola has brought to Barca. If Ramos can bring that to Real Madrid, he could have great success. My prediction is, he will win the Champions League next season but not do enough to win the title. He'll then be gone by the end of next season. I hope for his sake i'm wrong. But it is Real Madrid!

Agree with that about Pellegrini but i think the problem they will have will be the size of their squad, either them or Valencia to finish second. The qulaity of their signings have been just as good as Sevilla, picking up some real bargains. The Real job is possibly the worst in football, so i would expect Ramos to be there for two years at a stretch. Maybe he picks up a couple of trophies then his reputation is rebuilt. Mijatovic and Calderon are the real problem at Madrid IMO.

Poisoned chalice that job, Capello got sacked because he won La Liga but didn't win the Champions League as well. Now that's pressure. But good luck Juande.

Modric to Real rumours to follow shortly....

Nah, Zokora to Real Madrid more likely

Good luck Juande, hope you succeed where many have failed, but then again I wanted that at Spurs too.

Good luck to him! Sure he will do resonable well there. But wether he does enough to keep his job after end of season is another matter as at the moment cant see them catching Barcelona they are flying and probably best team in Europe at the moment.
