I'm seeing his name banded around quite a bit recently, possibly as part of any deal for Adebayor. Shalke have come out quoting ludicrous numbers and the fact that he is contracted until 2018 (recently extended) and they are in the Champions League (with a decent chance of getting out of group stages) probably rules this out. However, if they cant afford £5m (and say £15m in wages) for Adebayor then they are obviously in serious need of money. Could Baldini/Levy tempt them with some sort of Adebayor + Sig + £20m deal? He fits the profile and would slot in nicely at LWF (appreciate he plays more as a CAM these days). Overkill with Erikson though?

Thought I'd start a thread but realistically probably a year early as this article indicates!

I'm sorry but I had to give you a 'doh' there. Firstly, there's no links between him and Tottenham so it's just you basically stating a player you'd like. You've also attached a link of him saying he doesn't want to leave and has turned down the likes of Real Madrid yet you think he might come to Tottenham. :D

Also, it's partially because you believe Schalke actually want Adebayor :ROFLMAO:

meaning schalke have recently shown some pretty inconsistent performances (wolfsburg, hannover) and draxler is really the only player showing some degree of consistency

Okay fair enough. Thought you were suggesting he was the only decent player we had, and you were about to meet my friend pain :D

They won't get him, Wenger will shit bricks at the price.

I've seen "reports" that they bid 40m (Draxler's buyout clause) for a young German international. No need to worry, though, if he turned down Madrid and City earlier this summer there's no way in the world he'll choose to go to f***ing Arsenal.

If he turned down Real Madrid and City, he wont even consider Arsenal

You sure Lufti? I mean I'm all for Arsenal wasting another few precious days chasing a target they'll never get.

I'm too sure he won't go given he's rejected far better clubs.

His reasoning for rejecting those clubs was because he wants to develop for longer and at us, his boyhood club. He grew up supporting us and then came up through the academies. I think he's aware that it'd be bad for his development to move anywhere abroad right now, and if he's not going to move to Madrid and City then he wont to Arsenal. In Germany Arsenal aren't really seen as a step up from Schalke, only that the league as a whole is perhaps where people want to test themselves. Anyway, there's talk of him staying beyond 2014 and at this late stage he wont rush into move. My verdict: non-starter

If he was attainable for £40 million and Ryan's ITK was right I'd fuck off the need for a LB and go all out for this guy.

It's a next to nothing chance of happening for anyone, let alone us but! That would be a fucking insane front 3 = Draxler - Soldado - Lamela
