I could see Ade and Siggy going to Schalke along with a shed load of cash for Draxler if his stance from earlier this summer has changed.

Indeed, he said he would go if the club decided to sell him but otherwise was very happy to stay... Which is pretty fair cop.

I find it impossible to believe that we want Adebayor. Also, as Waddler said, Schalke don't have a replacement lined up and doubt they'd want to be hurried into finding one on the last day

Fair enough.

I don't think finding a replacement would be too difficult for Schalke actually as they have probably got a contingency plan together just incase someone starts throwing obscene cash at them for Draxler (also they would have money to burn which always helps).

True but don't forget our target's price would then increase 10% because it's the last day, and then another 10% because they know we have funds. I would only take Özil as a replacement :p

Yeah I totally agree with you, the prices would go up. However, any deal for Draxler would like be done late on after Schalke just happened to pick up another left winger this morning on the sly.

I think this transfer is a pipe dream really. Amazing young player, I'll definitely watch a lot of Schalke as he plays for them.

He'll go to Real Madrid for Bale money (or close to that) in a few years, no reason to sell him now. Unless he has some release clause, and even then he wouldn't come here.

Haha, all this talk is void because I just remembered the German transfer window closes at midday German time today. Which has passed. Schalke wont sell without a replacement, and so, Schalke wont sell!

I thought you had a list of players that had to be submitted and then only those deals could go through after midday?

Someone in the ITK thread has said Draxler is not on the list so that nips this one in the bud though

I doubt it. The lad seems switched on (much like Eriksen and wants to become the best player he can possibly be) so he won't be going to Madrid for years and years imo.

I think Schalke will prefer to sell him, they aren't doing that well financially and German clubs have no trouble selling their players for big money. Great player but if they can get 60m+ they won't refuse.

Yeah it closes at 18:00 German time actually. My friend just told me it had closed, don't know why. That's the last time I take his word for it

This is his exact quote:

"I don't mind people speculating, I'll let them have their fun. If nothing extraordinary happens, I will be here on Monday. But Schalke could change their mind and say 'Well, 40 or 30 million euros is not so bad,' and then I can't do much about it. If the club absolutely wants to sell me, I will not say 'No, I want to stay'," the teenager pointed out.

I like this, it makes me moist. I want this lad more than any other player (other than Reus).

Draxler is the most humble, down to earth, likable footballer there is imo. Don't know if he still does now, but last season he said how he still plays football once a week with his school friends. When he turned down Real Madrid and was asked why he said how even though he doesn't know if the offer will come around again, he's not ready to move and it's not like he's living off bread and nuts here in Schalke. He also said he would only ever play for Dortmund if he was brainwashed. A true Schalker, a true gent, and a great player!

Honestly, if we want to buy yet another AM, there's Nico Muller from Mainz with a 10 mln euro release clause. Great footballer.

Not sure if its been mentioned or not. But he signed a new contract (back in May) till 2018 which includes a £38m release clause.
