Fuck me, remind me to never get health advice from the SC community. There's some RAWK level of ignorance in here. If I came for advice for a migraine, I'd even up being told to get a lobotomy and my balls cut off!

Anyway Harry Kane most likely has the condition of cleft palate:

But dont take my word, I'm just an SC poster :woot:

It actually works.

I think it's just that his tongue comes forward when he speaks, more than most people's as he does have a speech impediment, which changes the sound of 'ks' as well as other letters/words, but he seems to have found the best way to speak now. Maybe had speech therapy?

Forget Kane's accent, it's Dier's accent I can't get my head around. How does a guy brought up in Cheltenham and Lisbon sound like he's been living in Broadwater farm all his life??

You can take the lad out of Broadwater but you cant take Broadwater out of the lad etc...he certainly doesn't sound Cheltenham does he :D

Kane's overall mannerisms make me think of a child that found a Zoltar machine and wished to be the best footballer in the world.

What could go wrong?

Well I think the Bale money has been the best thing for our squad, in a roundabout/moneyball kind of way.

We lost good money on some of the transfers, but thinking instead like this:

Sold Chiriches for £5M, bought Alli
Sold Soldado for £10M, bought Alderweireld
Sold Paulinho for £10M, bought Davies
Sold Capoue for £7M, bought N'Jie

So we have roughly ended up with these from the Bale money = Eriksen, Lamela, Chadli, Alderwiereld, Alli, Davies, N'Jie. (Son would fit better but he cost to much to align to my little fable table).

Im not English so apologies for this question. I notice Harry has a different kind of slang when he speaks. He seems to accentuate his K and pronounce it as "Khhh" like it comes from his throat. It doesn't sound like a typical Londoner.

Is it just a speech impediment or does he have a different ethnic background?

Some might feel this thread is not worth replying or reading but im just curious.

Fuck, it really has been a long international break when we have to resort to discussing about how one of our players speak.

I think the medical staff should approach transfers and new contracts like we're buying horses. Look in the mouth, check the teeth, gums, tongue, palates. Then, get them to articulate the most convoluted tongue-twister imaginable, and when/if...they fail, show 'em the doors out of White Hart Lane, point to the street and wish them good luck!

As we're closing the doors, we may hear desperate cries of " But...but, I'm Lionel Methi!" or "Wait, I'm the the top shtriker in the PL the lastht two theasons, and I actually play for you c..ths!"

Still, we're Tottenham Hostpur FC, standards to uphold and all that, and elocution and enunciation are paramount to our success!

Which English accent should I picture you with when sharing this creativity out loud?

I think it's only classed as a speech impediment if it hinders verbal communication, but he does have distinctive speech patterns perhaps caused by, as you suggest, an oversized tongue. Another big-tongued Essex boy is Jamie Oliver, who I think shares something of Harry's distinctive speech, although Oliver's Essex accent is much stronger because he exaggerates it as part of his image. Harry also seems to have something adenoidal going on with the mouth-breathing.

Feels a bit wrong discussing him like this, being neither a doctor nor a speech therapist. Harry's a thoughtful and articulate young man who always comes across very well in interviews. His speech 'peculiarity' is as unimportant as were Gareth Bale's enormous ears. Curious parallels there ... emergent Spurs superstars with athleticism and power ... ambition and humility ... childhood sweetheart girlfriends ... and an oversized facial feature. I'll stop now.

Chingford is in London not Essex
