Im not English so apologies for this question. I notice Harry has a different kind of slang when he speaks. He seems to accentuate his K and pronounce it as "Khhh" like it comes from his throat. It doesn't sound like a typical Londoner.

Is it just a speech impediment or does he have a different ethnic background?

Some might feel this thread is not worth replying or reading but im just curious.

It's not an accent, it's just how he speaks....I would even call it a speech impediment.

He's definitely a Londoner with a slight speech impediment. But he does seem to have better annunciation than the average footballer, so that's probably throwing you off a little too!

He's got an Essex accent, though not a particularly strong one. He definitely does have a mild speech impediment though. A kind of lisp - it almost sounds like his tongue's a bit too long and it gets in the way of pronouncing some words. But it's just part of him and adds to his humbleness, which, aside from his footballing skills, is part of the reason we love him so much.

Tends to swallow his words.
Born and raised in Chingford
so strictly speaking English is not his first language

Careful, my blood's E4-positive as well, and i know i'm not the only... what's the word... one second, let me get my translator :shifty:

Kane is a bit of a mouth breather (not meant in any way as an insult in this case), and combined with his pronunciation it leads me to think he may have some nasal or sinus obstruction or similar. I dunno, i'll ask my cuz to ask his bruv.

He's got a slight speech impediment. I'm pleased to note that it doesn't stop him being a very fine young man, nor does it stop him scoring goals.

Think he has the common occurance of having sucked his thumb too long as a child/teen and his front teeth dont meet. It makes an S more of a SH.

If you talk with your teeth not touching you can hear it...

Dont know why his K's would be effected by this though.

I like how confidently he speaks despite having a slight speech impediment. I'd imagine it could put some off speaking publicly. He's always good for a post match interview! :)

He reminds me of Peter Beardsley in the way he speaks ,although maybe not as lispy and minus the Geordie accent ,but similar in manner.

Lisp normally makes u say S like TH.

His impediment is more to accentuating his K.

As in I thinkhh

He is a Londoner and therefore speaks the queen's English perfectly, it's only when you leave London that you start getting funny accents.
