That is a very hard question which i cannot answer. Without King we look even weaker at that back than we do now, we all know king is worldclass and should be playing next to ferdiand in the england side much more than he does. But without Berbatov we would not be the same side either, he sets up all the goals, scores the goals, wins everything in the air.

So i cannot answer that question they are both world class.

Ledley for me. His presence always has a positive impact on the rest of the team, whereas I think Berba is starting to have a similar effect on the younger players that Henry did in his last year or so at Arsenal.

Ledley is probably the best player I have seen in a Spurs shirt

Very close, King wins it for me as he's a leader and as a whole team we look better, also, without Berby we have the likes of Bent and Defoe without King we struggle as our back-ups are not only not as good CB's as him but also not leaders like he is.
Both awsome, but Berbatov isn't as consistent as King. If we had to keep one of them and leadly king was guarenteed to be fit i'd pick him every day of the week, he is under-rated and when he gets a run of games, he's one of the best CB's in the world!!!!

King without question! It's a lot harder to stop the ball going in than it is to score. If we lost Berbatov we'd still score goals if we lost King we'd leak a lot more.

That hasn't really proven to be the case over the last 2.5 seasons. The difference when King plays in terms of goals conceded to when he doesn't is very marginal. But the difference in terms of games won is huge. The key reason for that can be seen by comparing the deffensive line we played against Villa (without King) and Arsenal (with King). To press high up the pitch and make it difficult for the opposition midfielders, a team has to play a high deffensive line. Without King we have either players who lack pace or are poor decision makers, therefore they either make mistakes or can't recover if someone does get in behind. King usually makes the right call, but if he gets it wrong he can recover better than anyone - remember the tackle on Robben last year. A highline is a higher risk strategy and we will still concede (as stats show we do), but it means we can play at a higher tempo, which is far better for 442 Prem football.

Defo King, the boy is our leader! berbatov does create and score the chances, but we have exceptional strikers if he isnt even playing, if king doesnt play, we fucked!

i would say King, as good as berbatov is king lifts the team and is captain, something that we seriously need on the pitch!! if it was down to skill, i would probably just go for Berabtov, but king brings so much more with him

Ledley King is our most important player, in my opinion. Berbatov is also very important to us, but, he comes a close second to King, as its obvious we concede lots of goals without him, and I feel he gives the players a lift when he's on the pitch. Of course, Berba scores and creates goals, but, as someone said before, we're capable of scoring without him.

I really hope King is over his injury problems, as I feel we have one of the top CB's in the country..................better that 'JT', in my opinion.

King.

It doesn't matter how many we score, if we can't defend we will be in 14th place in January......

definately King

Strange thread to bump. Although I'm glad people use the Search function. :)

The answer is King. That was an easy one.

The **** in me would also point out that it's "definitely".

Sorry for the spelling error Stoof!

I do like reviving old threads, may seem odd! But this topic is still relevant now, and is an ongoing debate (until Berbie leaves if he does!)

Two points.

First, if King's agent had revealed his desire to leave for a bigger club and Berbatov was considered at the same time as completely committed to Spurs, 90% of fans would go for Berbatov as a far more important player.

Second, the question would make sense if King stays fir for at least 3 months. To claim that a player who has been crocked most of the time is more important than a player who is second only to Ronaldo in contributing to goals in the Prem is plainly absurd. (And if Berbatov were a Manure player and Ronaldo a Spurs player, Berbatov would be faaaar ahead in terms of goals +assists).

Fit King might be more important to Spurs in terms of results. I don't know. No one knows it with certainty. I wish King and Berbatov to stay free of injuries till the end of the season.

King without a doubt

You way you need to look at it is who is missed more when his not playing. When Kings outwe have kaboul/gardner when berbas out we have proven premiership quality in bent or defoe
