I'd have to say Berbatov. Not because King is not as important, but we have Dawson who is such an able replacement in CB, therefore King's absence is more or less compensated. As for the striking department though, no one comes even close to matching Berb's presence on the field.

King is captain, and the best defender in the world. However goals win games, cups and leagues, so in order of importance Berba would be ahead. Some of the stuff these two do in their respective positions is on super human levels so meh to your poll I vote for neither.

king changes us from an average side to a top 5 side. even spammers fans tell me that king is a one man defence. berbatov has been great, but your captain is crucial to th e side, especially one as young as ours

Lads, I am sorry for my rude behaviour when I posted rather rudely about Ledders. I was a little bit out of my head at the time and a bit too much   !

Dear Ledley,

I have written a letter of apology towards about my comments I made about you earlier.

Although you haven't played in ages, I do still think you are the heart and the rock of our team. Your are the most important and our best player. And it is players like you which can allow Tottenham to hold a CL place.

I hope this letter is enough to convince you and all the other Yids out there to forgive me of my sins.

Yours sincerely,

Had both players been fit all season we would have been laughing ina top five position. Berba supplies the goals and the link between midfield and attack and King supplies the clean sheets that we so desperately miss.

The King of Tottenham.

Club captain who bleeds lilywhite.

Berba is special but there will only ever be one King of this manor.

TBH this question is just too hard to answer.

Espically as they both play the same position. I just dunno.

How can you ask this sort of question? I can't vote as they have completely different roles in the matches. One scores goals, which is important and one defends, which is equally important. WTF?

It's too close to call. We have better replacements for King but then King has been with us longer and is our captain. I voted Berbatov because I'm weak!

The fact is we need both if we want to make a serious challenge for a CL place, as well as Lennon and Robinson. Everyone else just needs to play well and those four will be our match winners.

King no question IMO. We've conceded 43 goals in the league - says it all.

I think they're both equally important to the team. Unfortunately, I can't pick one over the other.

King is immense, one of the best centre backs in the world. When he plays, we look like we can contain any attacker in the world. When he doesn't, we look shaky and, as evident this season, we concede a lot. Unfortunately, he's very injury prone and that's cost us a lot this year.

Berbatov is unreal. When he plays, we play fantastic, flowing football that's a joy to watch. Not only does he score plenty of goals, he sets them up too, and just generally makes things happen when he has the ball. When he's not on the pitch, we seem to struggle for creativity and our passing style seems to dip drastically. He reads the game the way Sheringham does. Only difference is, Berbatov has the pace and skill that Sheringham lacked.

Though, if I had to favour one over the other for the sake of the poll, I'd lean more to King. Simply because he's always been a consistent performer for us and is our leader. However, ask this question again at the same point next year, and I'll most likely vote Berbatov.
