Nope. Keane criticised Vieira for playing for France over the country of his birth. Keane played for the country of his birth..

He didn't play in an international tournament for an entirely different reason.

Not the same thing, not hypocrisy.

Pedantic possibly but why some are so obsessed with branding people as hypocrites, usually incorrectly, is beyond me.
how do you know Viera didnt chose France because they had a superior set-up?

I don't but that is completely irrelevant. Keane didn't choose England because we had a superior setup.

Why are you so desperate to call him a hypocrite?
I didnt call him a hypocrite over Walker. I did over Viera. And he is, your hair splitting aside. Are you really that interested in making this a lexical discussion?

I dunno man. His only chance to play in a World Cup and he fucked it. That’s a dumb move. And slagging off his players directly led to him being forced out of Utd. That’s pretty dumb too. He doesn’t think/care about a lot of the things he does. And he did get backlash when he released the book and admitted it. But anyway, the challenge was obvious to everyone that it was revenge for what Haaland did to Keane previously, so it didn’t even need to be said.

Wether it’s lack of intelligence or just plain evil (it’s a mixture of both IMO) there’s no doubt he’s fucked up a lot in his life. He gets away with it now because he was also a winner in his day, It just needs someone with the balls to bring this up in front of him on Super Sunday and we’ll have some fantastic viewing.
There was a bit more nuance to it than him simply walking out. He also played in the 94 World Cup. Personally I think he was wrong to say what he did. I agree with it though. Walker has at least one brainless moment in every game.

You're right. Let's just use words regardless of meaning.

I surmise that Roy Keane is an amorphic dung beetle who presupposes substitutes are hypothetical dullards.

hypocrisy is Keane insulting Viera for playing for France rather than Senegal after leaving Ireland in the lurch in 2002 in his only chance to play in a World Cup. I'll say this for Keane - he was smart enough to stick with football. Otherwise he'd be dead or in prison now. But I dont think he's smart enough to know that.
If you’re going to cite reasons why Keane isn’t smart at least get what you’re citing right

Of course. It’s a difficult one. He believed they weren’t being treated properly with the facilities etc and took a stand. It’s admirable in one way, but his stand meant that Ireland were left without their best player right before the World Cup was about to start... and also what he said to McCarthy was harsh. Iirc, he accused McCarthy of saying he faked an injury when he didn’t, but the reaction was, well, Keane-esque. He says he doesn’t regret it but he also said that playing in a World Cup is what football is all about so I have no doubts there is regret in there somewhere.

Agree about Walker too. He often has brain farts, we’ve all seen it. He’s also an excellent RB and as I said earlier, my personal opinion is that there’s a difference between calling something someone did ‘idiotic’ and calling someone an idiot or car crash. Sometimes it seems Keane is becoming a bit of a caricature of himself because of all the attention he gets nowadays. But the flip side is it makes for great tv.

Thing is, there wasn't much of an aftermath as he kept it quiet for years. If he'd admitted it at the time he'd have got a hefty punishment during his prime.

Walking out on Ireland, slagging off his players etc are probably not the best moves but in other ways they were. Nothing to do with intelligence though.

He didn’t last in football management either as he kept slagging off all his squad lol.

The man has issues.

Sorry to go off topic here, but Kyle still has great pace. He bailed City out a number of times sprinting back to win a ball over the top.

Still having his brain farts though. Where was he for Lo Celso’s goal ?

He was attacking?

I don't know why people are criticising him for being up the pitch when that's literally his job when City go forward, that is how City play...

I felt he was unusually subdued yesterday, I suspect Pep instructed him to not venture forward to nulify our counter.

Which makes the 2nd goal even greater as we caught him out on a rare foray upfield.

Anyway... Kyle Walker...

I think his problem is that he is often caught out of position, dependent on your opinion of his position.
As an RB he is often way too far up the pitch.
As a wing back he is pretty much where you would expect him to be, but then it’s the fault of the CB who is supposed to cover him if no-one does that job properly.
Like I said before, his frequent brain farts, combined with his off pitch antics, make him a bit of an idiot.

But again, this is how City play, he's instructed to support the forwards because he's very good at overlapping so when he gets caught up the pitch there's meant to be players covering on defensive transition either winning the ball back or tactical fouling.

Truth is for City is that there a massive 2017/19 Fernandinho shaped hole in their team that needs filling.

Not to mention a Kompany and Yaya sized gap that’s never been adequately filled
