What is up with sc and lennon on here he is 20 turning 21 this year for the last two seasons he has been in with a shout as our best midfielder. Lennon's problem with assist is not his final ball which is crap but the fact is there is only one spurs player in the opposition box. To me Lennon could be the strongest player in a very weak midfield.

Pointless thread. He hasn't improved at all in last 2 seasons and he's still really uncosistent and will/should be replaced in the summer.

A pointless, predictable and moronic reply. He doesn't have the midfielders with enough verve around him (a la Carrick and i make that 2 years ago by my estimations) to thread him or free him with a decent pass.

I'm getting that deja vu feeling again.

You seriously think he is in with a shout as being our best midfielder???

Personally i wouldn't say he has a massive amount of competition. I think our midfield as a whole is fairly weak.

shocking.

20 yr old, european, international and premierleague experience.

But hey - why not sell him? Is is only one of a rare bunch of people who can skin a player. Needs to work on final ball but thats about it. His tackling and working back is good as is his positioning.

Why the fuck would/should we sell him?

Lets build him up, develop him - not simply ship him out.

It's quite a valid one those isn't it? ties in quite well i'd say. That season we had are most convincing finish in the league for years. Although we rode our luck a few times we were right up there. Not miles behind but in 5th like last year. We didn't even have old Berbs that year did we? We had a better midfield but not as strong a strike force as we've had the last two seasons without Carrick.

You could argue the premiership has improved over the last couple of years but i'd put it down to the fact we more creativity in midfield myself. Perhaps less bite back then, but that's only really been instilled since Ramos has taken over, and look where we were before he came along.

It's like talking to a brick wall. We now live in the world of "football manager" fans who think every youngster should be as good as rooney and dips in form aren't allowed. 2 months ago everyone was writing off huddlestone he's too fat. he's too slow. blah blah. FFS they are 20/21 incnsistency is the only thing i expect from them.

Really that season we finished 5th but, were 4th for the most part, Lennon only got 3 assists, considering the last 2 seasons have produced 8 assists and this season only 3 assists so he did actually show progression in his second season but, has dropped off in the third and has rightly not even been considered for England or U21's and wouldn't surprise me if he is dropped from the spurs team as well.

selling him impulsively would be silly. he has been dissapointing lately, but that doesnt mean he should be sold based on a few months bad form. when he's on top of his game there is no-one else like him so cant see the club letting him go just like that. give him a summer under ramos and pre-season and let ramos decide whether he can and will fit into his plans.

How how many players in the prem can go past a player or can can skin the likes of Ashley Cole?

Look at the whole picture is what i'd say, not just the anoraky stats.

but to be fair to lennon how has performed aswell as they did in the season we finsih 5th? the whole team has suffered loss of form this year but there no doubt in my mind that lennon is/will be a top class player. even when he plays bad he still has the other teams left back scared to go 10-15 yards inside our half in case we get the ball to him and he has no chance of catching him.

i agree his form of late hasn't been up to standard, but there are not a lot of 20 year-old players out there that has played the amount of games has him in the last 3 years. IF (and it's a big if) he is still performing below the standard we need in 18 months-2years time then maybe think of selling him but now is just silly

I agree that you have to look at the bigger picture but, at the end of the day he won't ever be judged by how many times he skins a player. He will be judged as a winger in the number of assists and goals he scores because skinning a player with no end product is more or less worthless.

It doesn't matter how many players the boy skins out wide if he can't whip a cross in to cause the opposition problems, its all for nothing... Lennon cannot cross in the air and doesn't have a shot on him so as a winger all he has got is his pace... Until he learns to whip a ball in for Berbatov to run on to Ramos won't be making him a key part of any of our squad next season... For the amount of times he gets clear on the wing for the amount of assists he has its a poor showing tbh...

I hope we keep him cos he does have potential, but really and truly you can see why we might not

He won't be sold and neither will Jenas. Lennon is 20 and Jenas 25. They will flourish like grass in the summer.

Beware of season 2, starring...

I wouldn't be so sure about that, as Ramos starts to create hios own look like team in the summer and then everything can happend if players doesn't show enough to convince him end of this season.
