lennon is by far our most exciting midfielder. however if he can't put a decent cross in at the end of his runs there is no point in having him in the side. When he first come onto the scene his crossing was poor but I put that down to age. Nearly 3 years on and his delivery hasn't significantly improved to the standard required to break into the top 4. We need someone with more consistency in their crosses such a bentley

Maybe Lennon is partying too much. Hope Ramos can instil some discipline into him.

When he reaches his mid twenty's he'll be a fantastic player, no doubt in my mind. Would be a huge mistake to let him go as there is no need to. Keep him here, let him develop and reap the rewards. Nothing to lose by keeping him.

I remember C. Ronaldo couldn't cross, didn't score many and was just someone who ran fast, did tricks and had no end product. Give Lennon the time to grow into the player we know he can be.

Lennon has been poor for the last 2 season, ok he cant cross we know that. But with all the pace he has he don't even try to get pass players and get in the box for a shot.

Just think if Taarabt had half the minutes Lennon has been wasting we would be close to seeing the Spurs version of Ronaldo

:duh: That uber pacey winger Taarabt? Do me a favour. One paced show pony who cant make the simplest of passes let alone have an end product.

A pointless, predictable and moronic reply. He doesn't have the midfielders with enough verve around him (a la Carrick and i make that 2 years ago by my estimations) to thread him or free him with a decent pass.

I'm getting that deja vu feeling again.

I'm really annoyed. You have just summed up this thread at the second earliest opportunity. RESPECT.:bowdown::bowdown:

does his age make much of a diffrence? well maybe only abit, he has played neough top flight football now that his age shouldnt be an excuse

is he a quality player? he is, or can be... he does get into good space and then get totaly ignored though at times, but crosing and taking on people ahve been poor

has he been disapointing this season? very much so

do people have a right to complain about him this season? after the last few seasons, then yes! he has taken steps back IMO and people will rightly question if he is good enough to take us into the top 4

should people stop moaning if a players ability is questions? if they question it with good reason then yes, and lennon this season deserves to be questioned!

Pointless thread. He hasn't improved at all in last 2 seasons and he's still really uncosistent and will/should be replaced in the summer.

Defsta, this is the third time in the past week or so I've seen you disparage someone who has started a thread. The very fact this has gone to 3 pages shows it is a relevant discussion point, regardless of your personal views.

Please refrain from saying things like 'pointless thread'. You ignored our last friendly warning and got a long ban soon after. I hope you take this in the spirit it is intended and avoid making confrontational or disrespectful remarks.

Ta Muchly.

Hi fozzi :) of course it's a matter of opinion and that's mine - Lennon also goes missing more than JJ - who doesn't go missing in games very often, certainly nowhere near as much as is commonly thought - the amount of ground JJ covers in a game is phenomenal for the most part - and that's another opinion :)

I don't think it is actually, DC. I believe there are some stats kicking about showing the ground JJ covers, and 'phenomenol' is a more than apt description of it. Can't find them mind.

Regarding the debate, I think our 2 'problems' (fuck me, though, what I'd have given for these type of 'problems' 5 years ago  ) of Lennon not offering enough assists and Steve Mallbrank's dip in form will both be solved with a quality new winger. Signing a Capel or another would allow Steve and Azza to rest more, thus improving their impact. Plus, we'd have a shiny new winger who we could get on the back of after a couple of average performances, thus alleviating the pressure on the existing pair. :-|

Lennon running at any left back in the prem scares them that is why whenever we play utd evra is barely seen in the match.

The thing with Lennon is, that for someone thats come onto the 1st team scene at a bang, he is struggling to take his game upto the next level.

No question that on his day, he is as frightening running at defenders as any other winger.
The problem is though, he is our only 1st team winger, he teaches and learns from himself and his coaches.

What Lennon needs to improve his game, is another winger, preferably someone in or near their peak to come in either left sided or someone challenging his spot to learn from and gain experience from.

We forget that he is still 21, and still learning his trade, but who from? Yes his coaches and fellow players, but seeing another winger 1st hand, would be much more worthwhile, and beneficial to him.

to be honest that is probably the most sensible point in this thread. Lennon has no other winger to learn from and vice versa. I mean it is crazy that we havent had an natural left sided player (ohara aside) for this long now. Lennon is trying to develop his game, the fact there is no one else, nor has there been in lennons time at the club, to learn off must make it difficult. It would for me.
