I don’t even think Bailey is all that good. He was a huge prospect 2-3 years ago and has really plateaued.

I’d much rather go for Sarr if we want a speedy winger. He can play on the right, has done it in the EPL and I think has a bigger upside. Price would prob be similar too.

oh good, so we would have Bailey, Son, Lamela, Bergwijn, Moura and Sessegnon all capable of playing the same role but only one target man.

It really doesn’t matter how you look at it, it is a completely unnecessary signing and not what we need.
To be fair only 3 of them are actual wide men. Sess is likely to be given time at LB/LWB and Lamela just isn't a wide man at all.

We do desperately need competition though. Lucas and Son won't sweat too much about their position if there's only Bergwijn available, plus any of them get injured and we are restricted. Also Bailey is better than the others in a central role.

Yesterday, Son started brightly, Lucas didn't do a lot and Kane was almost invisible. Would have been nice if we had 3 forward players ready to come on (Bergwijn/CF/WF) instead of just the one. We really need players to worry about their spot in the team because it's clear they are not worried about it and it's not driving them to do more. You could say that across the pitch though to be fair.

Anyway, I highly highly doubt this will happen, as soon as we hear he may available Everton will get involved and the price will start to rise, that'll be us out immediately.

If it wasn't ENIC and the owners were more ambitious, we'd have two quality players per role, therefore you'd have four winger/forward types.

Liverpool want him apparently which would rule us out.

I will give you Lamela, but the rest can all play as wide attacking players and have done so to great effect at one time or another. Sessegnon has done very well in that position for Fulham and never really been given a chance by us.

Bergwijn I think has made a very good start to his career at Spurs and should be starting ahead of Lucas who is streaky.

I am just royally fucked off that once again our season has started and we are ill equipped to cope with the schedule we have coming up. If we are unwilling to pay a realistic amount for a player who can push one of the worlds top strikers then task the scouts with finding a striker that’s fits our budget and can get us goals against piss poor early cup round fodder - then bring them in before the season starts - Wilson, Deeney, King

Every single link to a player has a paragraph that says we’re interested, but the price would have to come way down to make it plausible.

It’s almost like they make it up isn’t it?

I can see this kind of target being one we go for instead of buying a proper striker.

Yeah, it’s like a copy and paste paragraph.

I also have a feeling we’ll end up a “forward” rather then a proper striker.

This just strikes me as us being used by an agent to drum up interest in the player! Only reason we would be interested in him other wise if one of Moura or Bergwijn are leaving and I cant see that happening.

I don’t think we need a winger but if we did I’d rather us go for Traore at Wolves than Bailey (although he would cost more). More physicality and aggression.

We are desperate for an Eriksen replacement, I’m worried we are not going to replace him like we didn’t with Dembele. Another 10 with GLC back fit and we should look far more creative.

We did replace Dembele, just 6 months too late and he turned out to be lazy.

He developed into an absolute world beater on FM 2018. By that infallible measure, we should probably move for him now before he goes for a world record fee next summer.

I’d take him. Sell Lucas and Lamela. Replace with Bale & Bailey. Sell Davies, replace with Reguilon. Sell Rose, Serge, Foyth, CCV & bring in a backup striker. Use January for a midfielder. That would be a great window. Never going to happen though.

Based off Levy’s unwillingness to budge on Player valuations, those outgoings alone wouldn’t happen in two windows. I honestly believe that’s our biggest downfall since we (in general) are a one out/one in type of club.

I think it'll be a good buy at the right price imo he'd bring much needed balance with him being left footed.

It will be the time to move Lamela on.

A million winners!

So, we over value our players when trying to sell and won’t budge on the price.
And when trying to buy players we don’t want to get embroiled in an auction and want a clear run at them.

i fucking despair of Levy. He’s lucky the stadium is empty right now as I could see the atmosphere getting pretty toxic very quickly.
