They will be fine. The club will be sold in a few weeks to some other loaded owner and normal service will resume
It won’t be “normal” service though.
They were essentially state sponsored so threw money away.
Any new owner even though a billionaire won’t spend anywhere near the amount Roman did

I wonder do the players and manager feel any sense of shame now it’s clearly exposed what their owner stands for and how they are able to make so much money from Chelsea/Russia.
They should. It’s been obvious that he’s linked to a pretty nasty regime long before Putin decided to invade Ukraine. Fans, players, coaches should all feel shame that they’ve participated in this sportswashing and money laundering exercise.

Not being funny but say there was a football club back in the day that had been funded by the Nazis for 20 years how would they be viewed today or should they even keep their trophies. Nobody knows how the Russia situation will unfold or how Abramovich will be viewed in years to come.

No sympathy for Chelsea or Abramovich whatsoever. However, I have to ask, how comes the owners of Man City and Newcastle are allowed to continue? No doubt Abramovich is a corrupt, thieving gangster but he hasn't personally sanctioned and financed a ruthless, indiscriminate bombing campaign against impoverished civilians such as has been going on for years in Yemen. Abramovich is guilty by association but hasn't personally instigated and financed the war in Ukraine.

Well I assume they are still getting their cut of TV money and will still be getting sponsorship money, plus they've already sold season tickets so they will have that money in reserve.

So they can keep going in the short term. No idea how this ends long term though!
And merchandising, third party retailers are still selling kit of which the club will make money.
Surely the likes of sports direct and JD need to remove their merchandise with immediate effect?

Havnt fully caught up with the thread so this might have been touched on, if so, apologies.

.....this season only current season ticket holders can attend matches as their tickets have already been bought, but what about selling season tickets themselves? It's renewal time, and I'm guessing they can't now sell them for next season?

Considering Chelsea can’t pay a lawyer to defend themselves, I reckon they could just walk :p
Well not really. Contract breach or not the club will still own the registration. No Chelsea players will be walking away until the Summer minimum, because to get the registration cancelled by the governing body is neither quick nor is it straight forward. I mean if they don't get paid they can certainly tear up the contract and not play at all but they won't be able to just join another club for instance.

Nope, can’t sell any tickets. The restrictions will be reviewed at the end of may though.

Might be because we are supplying SA the bombs they are using to decimate Yemen and Kill hundreds of thousands of people
