L'Equipe is saying Chelsea will appoint Laurent Blanc as manager. Sarri is too difficult to sort out, even though Napoli appointed Ancelotti there is some dispute there.

I can see Blanc at Chelsea for some reason. A downgrade on Conte definitely.

So whats going to happen if/when Abramovic decides to jump ship...not sure what state the club is generally in, in terms of attracting prospective investors/buyers...

Dragged this over from the Grealish thread ..

Chelsea had operating losses of £54m in 2016/17 which they covered by profits on player trading, mainly the sale of Oscar. They blamed the losses on being out of the Champions League so they have another difficult year ahead. So either Abramovich will need to stump up or they’ll have to sell another big player. It’s not difficult to imagine Abramovich deciding that there are better things for him to do with his money now he can’t get a U.K. visa.

I appreciate this is a Jack Grealish thread but AB is still pumping millions into Chelsea..

The first thing to point out is that, for all their success on the pitch and the revenue that generates, Chelsea have benefited from large amounts of shareholder subsidy in recent years.

Abramovich has been pouring, on average, around £60 million a year into Chelsea. Technically, it has not been largesse but loans, and the most recent count, made in June last year, said the club owed its owner some £1.2 billion. This is repayable within 18 months of Abramovich calling it in -- a commitment Chelsea would naturally be unable to meet if he did -- although at that time he did not express any intention of demanding repayment.

Speaking of Chelsea and Grealish - SSN reporting they're now interested in him, and, somewhat unsurprisingly, willing to loan him back to Villa.

Why are chelsea not being investigated? They clearly sign anyone their nearest rivals want, with no intention of ever using them, just to stop others getting them.

Because it's not breaking any rules.

It's the first time I hope they beat us to the signing. But it's probably bs. Because he's not good enough for them or any of the top 6 teams.

The days of that absolute shit stain of a club Chelsea coming in and beating us to a signing are not a prevalent as they were.

Or someone's leaked it to try an panic us into increasing our offer???

Every report is rehashing or quoting the original article on teamtalk. If they were going to leak anything, I fail to see why they would leak it to teamtalk. This is the SSN rumour. Again, it's come from the teamtalk one.

GREALISH TO CHELSEA?
Chelsea
are hoping to beat a number of Premier League rivals in the race to sign Jack Grealish from Aston Villa, according to TeamTalk.
The report suggests the Blues have offered Villa a tempting package and are ready to spend up to £30m on the 22-year-old.
They are also said to be willing to loan him back to Villa for the 2018/19 season in order to land the deal.

nothing against you @midoNdefoe but comments like this are no different to Pool/utd/Arse fans saying "When Poch goes to madrid" and "When Barce come for Eriksen".

Yes we always dream about bad things happening to our enemies. Nothing wrong with it. They laugh at us and secretly shit themselves and we do the same.

Willian
Batshuaiaiausiauaiai
Barkley
Cuadrado
Salah?

All of those were transfer targets of ours in the last few years that they came in, signed from under our noses and, other than Willian, discarded all of them once the job was done.

It may not be breaking rules but those rules need to be looked at. Maximum squad numbers were brought in to stop teams hoarding players, so Chelsea just reverted to loaning them out to get around it.
