Agreed, a lot of pundits have them as winning the PL, I don't see it. I felt they were extremely lucky in a number of games last year, that won't continue. Outside of their starting 11 they are weak at CD and in attack. Fatigue will have an affect towards the ends of the season and I wouldn't be surprised if they finished 3rd or 4th

I think you're forgetting that Lovren is one of the best defenders in the world :woot:

Their local mouthpiece revelling in another team's player being injured. They are a special breed.

The Echo is owned by Reach (formerly Trinity Mirror) these days, and the scousers aren't really represented or warm towards it as a rag.

Seems like they got a little karma with Allison.

No why would they?
Well as a result of winning that they would play in the Club World Cup and the European Super Cup, the rest of the competitions mentioned are the League and the domestic cups which every PL team compete in, what I hadn't considered was the Charity Shield, which is a glorified friendly anyway, which they got into for finishing second, and also have now lost anyway.

I don't quite understand why the article is making out like it's some spectacular achievement simply to be playing in those competitions.

... and they must have been gutted that there was no opposition player with 10 metres when it happened. One of the joys of being a Liverpool fan is putting together an angry petition to get an opononent banned for life.:)

The Super Cup match is this coming Wednesday, and Pool have Southampton away on Saturday.

There is hope for them to start dropping points already.

Not that impressed with Liverpool last night
They eventually did the business
against the newcomers
who missed two good early chances
and gifted them a pathetic own goal
and a header from a poorly marked corner

Norwich looked to play and should be fine
scored an excellent goal
with the Liverpool defence nowhere.

Would be happy though with the same result
tonight against Villa.

I’ve only just remembered about the media. BBC Breakfast already talking about a title push FFS. A bit early isn’t it.

Don’t get me wrong I love digging out the scousers but going 3-0 up in first 28mins is hardly ‘eventually’ doing the business.

More a case of seeing their keeper get injured and taking their foot off the gas in the 2nd half to keep fresh before their UEFA Super Cup fixture on Wednesday

You're too kind.
They could have been 2 down
in the first 15 minutes.

'eventually' just means
'in the end'
A short end in this case admittedly.

Probably my reaction
against the adulatory commentary.
Proper Scouse love-in.
