I read Teamtalk (I know I am stupid for doing so!) over time I have noticed the bias towards Liverpool is a bit OTT, here is the front page today:

I have included the table on the right hand side to show that Liverpool are in 8th position and perhaps undeserving of the attention. Former player Suarez, the German fellow heavily linked with Liverpool and of course the other more obvious Liverpool links. It really does wind me up! Why do they continue to get more press than Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United and City.

Because they have a lot of fans and that allows the media to pander to them and in return they generate more clicks therefore more revenue.

Maybe Klopp isn't aware that uttering the word "shit" in the UK seems to be as serious as raping the Queen. I had an English teacher from London (former SAS dude from Islington of all places. As gooner as they come) and some poor fellow had used the word "shit" in an essay, probably not thinking it was a big deal, since the exact same word isn't very offensive in this country. It's something you would expect a priest to utter if he dropped a bottle of altar wine or something like that.

Anywhoo, we all got a ten minute lecture on not molesting the queens English in such a manner.

Klopp probably never got that lecture, and maybe isn't aware that "shit" is serious business.

People have probably been telling him Liverpool are shit for months. He probably thinks that English people really like that word.

"...but did he mean it?" Did he fuck!!! "No look pass" ???!!!!!! He miss hit a shot and his blushes were spared by his team mate. It's laughable that some people believe he meant it :banghead:
Even if he meant it, plenty have done the same before him.

Five out with hamstring injuries suggests that. They're being told to play football in a way they haven't trained for.
Yep. This was always going to happen around these run of games. Congested period, barely into a brand new training regimen, high press tactics. You need a full preseason with the new training regimen. Not 2 months mid season. The next week might produce more hammy strains with 3 fixtures in like 6 or 7 days.

... and they've also got a hyperactive in-house publicity machine that feeds all this crap to lazy journalists.

All this was then exacerbated by Klopp losing his rag after the West Ham game, and pressurising the team into putting in more effort. Perhaps he's not the genius we all thought...

He's a good manager...like the kind of manager players want to play for like Poch but I'm surprised that he's trying to implement his high pressing, high intensity philosophy so quick seeing as he's come in mid way through the season it will take it's toll on the players' bodies especially as they have already been geared up to train/play a certain way.

It will be interesting if he keeps his players onside so that they trust him enough so that going into next season he'll have the benefit of a pre-season and an actual plan, he's certainly has the character and people warm to him which makes him a success so that might buy him some time.

As I said 2 months ago, he will turn out to be the new Christian Gross

Yeah I think he'll do well for them once he gets a pre-season under his belt, but he's shown a lot of naivety coming in and trying to implement his ethos off the start.

Schneiderlin said that Poch's high intensity starts to take effect after 6 months and that's with a pre-season, it took us 3 months time actually show any signs of adapting to high pressing as a team collectively then we saw it in sporadic measures, I still don't think we will be able to maintain it throughout the season.

I think Liverpool will need a few players in the summer and it will take them a couple of transfer windows for them to see consistency in their pressing game but let's see how long the Liverpool board, media and fans give him, I think that he's charismatic enough to buy himself time if he needs it.

Something that has really impressed me with Poch from the early days until now is the way in which he seems to give players time to get ready to play his system, time to adapt, time to get fit. This includes players returning from injury. I think the downside for Klopp was being brought in late into a job where they seem to expect the team to instantly adapt

He's done it because of the pressure. The hype that he brought and the media perpetuating it made it necessary for him to impose his style of football ASAP.

I think he's a bit of a wally but in his first press conference he said it was going to be a slow process. Maybe he should just have been stronger and not have changed too much straight away in terms of playing style.

They need to make a couple of signings this window else the job for him in the summer is going to be huge. I suspect it will be another season or so before he gets them right but I doubt their fans will stand for that. Maybe if he was allowed to go on with his job a bit quieter but they don't seem to want that.

I'm not sure it's just naivite. A new manager at Liverpool had to be seen to hit the ground running and, given that the transfer window was shut, he didn't have the luxury of bringing in a cadre of players better fitted to his style. The obvious solution would have been to blood some young lads from Liverpool's development squad, whose youth would at least have been better suited to the high energy game that Klopp employs. Instead, he seems to have boxed himself in by continuing to pick from the same group of players that Brenda had assembled to play his possession-based game.

So they've signed a new player, a midfielder, a 19 year old...nice and young and therefore perhaps more capable of adapting quickly to this high intensity pressing game due to his youth. So what do they do? Yup, let him stay where he is on loan for the remainder of the season.

Liverpool haven't got much quality coming through, their best prospect is Jordan Rossiter but apart from that I'd be surprised if their youngsters will make it with them hence why he probably hasn't turned to them.
