No issue with that, but I can't help but think the press were reluctant to talk about his 'flailing arm' incident vs Stoke on Saturday simply because they all knew they had voted for him and a) will not have wanted the recipient of their award to be in the headlines for a violent conduct charge; and b) will each be clambering over each other for access to interview him in the next couple of weeks.

What an odd bunch they are. Seems to have become worse this season. The fans online are obsessed and now the players are, even though they should be celebrating Salah or looking forward to the 2nd leg they are still focused on another team who may very well finish above them this season.

It’s honestly interesting where their mentality as a city comes from. Because it’s completely unique in the UK. Nobody else even comes close. Maybe it’s because Liverpool was so poverty riddled it gave them a chip on their shoulder. But it really is quite bizarre. Strange bunch.
