Kin hell, this article is so ridiculously stupid and bitter that it’s almost funny. Lamela can’t spell his Christian name properly and let’s clear up the offside incident, he wasn’t. Lol.

I saw a post on RAWK yesterday by some twat who could not believe that Spurs had been in the top tier of English football longer than they have.

They were promoted in 1962/3 and he was certain we had been out of the Premier League on occasions.

Different world eh ?

Didn't we get relegated in the late 70s?

Urm...hate to tell you this, but he's actually correct. They were first in the top flight in 1895, we didn't make it until 1909.

They were last promoted in 1961/62 and have been there ever since, we were last promoted in 1977/78 and have been there since.

The only thing he's wrong about is us being relegated from the PL.

I'll happily agree that if he's a Liverpool fan he's a twat though.

I'm on heavy meds at the moment - they were discussing since we came up and they walloped us 7-0 at Anfield
when we had Ardiles, Hoddle and Villa playing. The guy was sure we had been relegated since then as well.

They went on to say we hadn't beaten them by a decent score and one guy said Spurs beat them 4-0 in 2011.
Then another went and said that was 'ages ago'

We haven’t been awarded a penalty since that game and didn’t get one at home all of last season and none so far this campaign. They’ll be no better time to be awarded one and score it than on Saturday. We won’t be, but it will be funny if we are!

The years between 1991 and 1999 were definitely forgettable.
I'd say that 1991 was the start of 20 years of forgettable seasons, apart from a couple of League Cup wins (wow), occasional wins against the Sky teams and a few individuals such as Klinsmann, Ginola, Sheringham and King.

Yeah, but thats the Tottenham I grew up loving. Regardless of how much success we're having at any given times, most of my fondest memories of watching Tottenham are things that happened in games that I couldn't even tell you the score of now.

I'm with you here. The majority of the time it was incredibly depressing but there were some fond times amongst it. I'm also glad I didn't grow up like the majority of my United & Arsenal supporting friends did as I would be probably be just as entitled as them.

The wilderness years punctuated with Arsene Wenger's South London Johnnies having some successful times.
