There's nothing particularly new about what West Ham are doing this season, other than the back to front nature of their results. Every season one or two teams have a better than expected first half of the campaign and have Top 4/Top 6 in their sights. Every season they fall away in February/March. I've seen nothing about this West Ham team to indicate they're as good as, let alone better than, Soton last season or Everton the year before.

Big problem?

They'll give us a tough couple of games, like they usually do but they'll be nowhere near us come the end of the season.

With no European distraction and decent squad depth this season I can't see it, hope you're right though.

Payet's their only real good player, they've got a lot of depth and a lot of strikers but they're all pretty average.

Well that's clearly not true otherwise they wouldn't be 3rd and they wouldn't have beaten City, Pool and Arsenal away.

Meh, they were 4th last year in december and ended up 12th.

Did you see those games though? They scored with their first shot in each of them (and second at City) and then just packed up shop and sat behind the ball for the rest of the game. Those results aren't sustainable and their form at home against the minnows has been shite.

From what i've heard about Bilic at Besiktas he used to get his team up for the big games but struggled against the minnows, looks like it's going a similar way with the pikeys.

I don't know that that is meant to mean really, I mean they also had to defend the rest of the game and shut down the likes of Aguero/Silva, Walcott/Sanchez and Benteke/Coutinho, you're suggesting it's some sort of fluke them scoring with their first shot but they've claimed 3 wins away against top tier team, that isn't a fluke at all.

And they've also beaten Newcastle and Palace so no not just up for big games.

That explains it better.

Newcastle are fucking dreadful and Palace are far better away from home and were down to 10 men for 45 minutes.

So far from their first 4 home games against Leicester, Bournemouth, Norwich and Newcastle they've got 4 points, conceding 6 in the Bournemouth and Norwich games.

They're a mid table team with a mid table squad. That's where they'll be at the end of the season and we'll be top 6 as per usual. They're not a real threat.

But lost at home to Leicester and Bournemouth, and were within 30 seconds of losing at home to Norwich. It's not that they're only up for the big games, but more that Bilic's way of playing is suited to being away from home. They'll drop a lot of points at home this season.

They will finish 10th at best 8th. Cant call their results against us, wouldn't be surprised if they get 4 points though.

Bilic has certainly got them turning up against the big sides, but he's getting a lot of luck. Still really not concerned. Remember when Hull where 4th at Christmas? LOLZ

Maybe its time we took them a little more seriously... they tanked the Europa squad, to avoid the distraction, and they look like they could be in the mix all season.

A threat? It's only been a quarter of the season or so. Lots of team do well until Christmas and fall off the radar a bit like this team I know last year. I think they were called West Ham?

They could be a threat, but have to wait and see really, too early to see. A bit like to early to say CP and Leicester are also threats and that Chelsea will be nowhere near Top 5/6. All too early.

This time last year they were in the top four and 5 points ahead of us. There's still 28 games to go. Same with Southampton, everyone was pissing their knickers last season and they weren't any sort of threat by the end
