Nobody can be 100% sure but it's overwhelmingly more logical that he meant that than anything else.
Not really as African players are often missing for long periods during the African Cup of Nations.

This always used to hit some teams hard with a number of Ivory Coast & Senegalese players

You're assuming. I know/knew a guy from Caribbean decent (parents) who hated Africans.

Yes OK there is a minute chance that he could also have been referring to everyone from the continent of Africa, including white or Asian people. But like I say, it far far far more likely that he meant black Africans.

Yeah but he said it was because they had "bad attitudes" so it was obviously nothing to do with the CON

O it's 100% black African players. Just you can't assume that he has anything agaisnt black people.

True. Don't think he has a problem buying black players just african ones.
Whatever way you put it, it was a stupid thing to say.

The Guardian has this strap line about West Ham ...

https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...-tony-henry-racism-claim-sign-african-players

In there it mentions that Lady Brady has also caused a bit of grief ....

According to a source, attempts to sign Slimani were hindered because Brady, the club’s vice-chairman, offended Leicester’s owners with comments about the club’s chairman, Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, in her weekly column for the Sun last year.

“A fellow Premier League director reports that last night he bumped into the Leicester chairman at London’s most-expensive wine shop,” Brady wrote. “The Leicester owner told him they’d sacked Claudio Ranieri.

“He then casually settled his bill for wine and champagne. Since the sum was close to £500,000 I guess the compensation to his old manager is pocket change. At least the owner can drown his sorrows in style!”

The source suggested Brady’s comments ended up becoming a PR own goal when Leicester refused to consider West Ham’s interest in Slimani, paving the way for Newcastle United to sign the Algerian forward on loan. It is claimed that despite repeated apologies from West Ham, attempts to make peace with Leicester fell on deaf ears.

It is understood that Brady apologised to Leicester some time ago and thought the matter was considered by both parties to be closed.

Some businesswoman eh ?

I was just coming in to post that.

Thank god they are back with something we can laugh at. It's been too long since they did something stupid. It was happening on a weekly basis 6 months ago. Those were good times.

Totally get this, about twenty years ago one of my teams had a rather large Caribbean influence. We had a lad come down to join us and they all threatened to walk as the didn’t want a “d!rty Afr!can” playing in their team.
There isn’t too much love lost, you only have to look at the problems within West Indian cricket as well.
