Basically top class players, or players who see themselves as being top class, want to play for what they deem to be top class clubs.

Payet only joined them last season because nobody else was interested. He wasn't deemed to be top class either. Bacca is a good striker but he is clearly holding out for a bigger club because he seems himself as being above a mid-table English club. Lacazatte didn't even entertain them, same with Batshuayi. They want(ed) bigger, more high profile clubs. Batshuayi got it and Lacazatte is already at a bigger club than West Ham so why make that move if he can't find a top club?

Their approach to this apparent striker search always seemed a little bit silly. If and when they do get one in, he might be a little put off that he was their 28th choice on the original list.

I think it says it all when Brady and co. were talking about wanting to sign a "£25m striker" instead of a "25 goals a season striker". Stinks of making a statement rather than anything else.

The Dildo Brothas could always generate some extra revenues to tempt a high costing scoring striker by publishing a special Collector's Edition Reader's Wives: The Stadium Edition. Phwoar, you show us your stadium, we'll show you ours!

Some fans may find it a little off-putting lifting up their Ol' Gal's skirts and seeing them cable ties...kinda Nora Batty-esque. Not to mention they've just ditched their wifey for a government funded 'ho :sick::sick:

They are going mental over it on kumb. His son posts on there and wants to talk about other things going on at the club but can't at the moment.

Tony Carr Redundancy

Just read this story from the daily mail. the two Dave's need to take a very long look at them selves. Disgraceful and I hope they get a massive fan backlash

Surely there must be more to this than is reported here. I can't believe even Lady Brady and her cronies can be that disrespectful/stupid.
Well believe it buddy as even a few of your fellow fans know what the Davids & Brady are like

Well they've done some ****ish things over the years but that tops it all if true?

His lad posts on here, perhaps he can confirm?

In reply to the above
Reading his posts , he said he wants to tell us more about the club but can't at the moment

is there a link for the just giving page? ta

Found it

https://crowdfunding.justgiving.com/tonycarr

Again . its not the money, he does not want to stop working and feels like he has a lot still to give. He's already been offered several other positions ( one by a top premiership team ) but he's West Ham through and through and after 43 years , to get a letter in the post from the HR department advising you are being made redundant has cast a huge shadow over 43 years at the club he loves. If his time is up and West Ham feel they no longer have any need for his services he has no problem with that, but the way its been handled is pure disrespect.

This has been two years in the making and done over a slow period of time to force him out of his role

But the club showed its class by not even speaking to him personally in the end and chucked him over to HR

The ambassador role was a PR stunt of sort but in reality is was a step to force him out as that contract was a revolving 6 month contract so they could end it pretty easy

Personally I believe that no one can stay in the Job forever but please West Ham, show the guy some dignity

His decision to let the mail run the story which is true is because he is hopefull he may get a new job offer

Not ready to retire just yet

Thanks

Brady and her like are slime. That much we knew. Would have thought better from the daves, but apperently not. Appalling.
You know it!

As others have said it's not about the money, it's about the complete lack of class from the club.

But come on, a just giving page? Tony Carr doesn't need fund raising, he's probably a millionaire.....
icon_confused.gif

maybe DG couldve tweeted his redundancy package ? , i cant believe in this day and age , when we salute true heroes from our club , we have treated this man so poorly. Sometimes we spectacularly shoot ourselves in the foot

KUMB Insider wrote:This is due to the fact that terry westly is a close family friend of Brady and she wanted him in

All very sad... a couple of things that surprise me...

Westley - Not doing a bad job... I'm surprised by the implication that his appointment was a 'favour' and not based on merit purely given the performance

The Mail article - The angle is very much money... given that's the last thing this seems to be about I'm surprised he let the story run as it has

I'm not condoning the behaviour of the club here whatsoever... been shoddy and could have very easily been handled with much more class!

Yet some people still believe DS & DG "love" the club.

I find it excruciatingly painful to know we gave £12k to the Tory party, but only £14k to Tony Carr after 40 years of service.

Brady for you.
icon_thumbsdown.gif
Brady "paying" for her MBE or whatever she was "rewarded" with for what again?

Just when you begin to think the owners 'Love' the club and are 'West Ham through and through'. They piss all over the most loyal fans and servants.

- The way they auctioned off the history of West Ham.
- Changing the crest with no fan input what so ever.
- Telling the small stalls/businesses outside Upton Park that they will be coming with us to Olympic Stadium, but then never mention it again.
- Sticking the Upton Park gates inside the shop like some tourist attraction at Disney.
- Constantly promising all these top signings, but then go back on their word. Fair enough, we have had great transfer windows recently, but why mouth off about getting a 20+mil top striker all summer when it looks very unlikely now. Just keep it to yourself, and stop letting fans down.
- Making the club look like a joke constantly on social media.
- Possibly the selling of one of our most brightest prospects in many years.
- I'm sure there is a ton more too...

And now making a club legend redundant, apparently by letter too! It's not even about the money, it's how they have gone about it. The **** ton of money the club is raking in at the moment (£30 quid for a friendly!) I'm sure they can afford to keep him on the payroll on an ambassador role, he would still play a massive part which he wants, and which we need at the moment, with the owners doing moves which are making us lose our identity! We need as much men like Tony Carr at the club as possibly at the moment.

The fact we have to rely on young Jack Sullivan to speak to his Dad about this, is ridiculous. It is something that should't even be questioned, let alone actually happen.

In response to Westly not doing a bad job.
I don't know if you can judge from the outside if someone's doing well in a job like youth development when they've only been here for a relatively short time.
I've also read a few times that his Mrs also happens to have worked for Brady for years.

And I don't want to have a pop at the lad. But his son, who was released from a couple of academies previously ends up at our place in his early twenties. Whilst Terry Westley might be doing a fantastic job, we don't know that yet but there does seem to be a fair bit of nepotism going on.

Westley, whose first job was to promote his son above other more talented kids. We all remember the terrible story from the parent of an ex-youth team player that was posted on here a while back.

This relates to the above comment

Well, it's not like our owners have ever shown class before, why would they start now?
This poster knows it too. Classless!

West Ham have a History of classless behaviour - Bobby Moore , John Lyall , Billy Bonds , now Tony Carr , will they ever learn ??
It's not that it even takes a lot to put these things right - I can understand it coming from Lady Brady who only very recently pocketed £1m for her part in moving to the Olympic Ground [ or whatever it's called ] but surely Gold and Sullivan would have had knowledge of this yet they let it happen .
It's not the money as Claret Pimpernel has said , it's the way it was done .
When I received that very generous offer of a free ticket from you guys last year , I had a lot of correspondence with Sicknote who told me he would never venture inside of a West Ham ground while ' this lot were in charge ' - I'm beginning to understand where he was coming from .
'' Classless And Cold '' Ms Brady .
Them too

Just seen a billboard being delivered outside the Olympic Stadium with the new hashtag...

NO MOORE THAN A BUSINESS

Catchy.
lol, so they saying that WHU are only a business, cos that's how it reads to me. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::sick:

A 14 year old having a word with his dad, on Tony Carr's behalf, over his Coco Pops this morning.....what a sad state of affairs we've arrived at.

The latest in a long line of classless acts.

Like so many club owners, they seem to delight in showing their complete contempt for their 'customers'.
'What are they going to do about it, they're not going anywhere'.

I'm surprised they didn't try to sell him off in the Boleyn Auction .... He was after all a piece of the furniture there.
:ROFLMAO:

This is disgraceful and terrible PR for the club, what were they thinking? Do they not understand how important and valuable Tony Car has been to our club. Why are we always doing stupid things like this and the cringeworthy kit launch? Two clangers in a week.
Oh, that kit launch was more than cringeworthy :sick::sick::sick::sick:

I'm sorry, but was he not paid during his 43 years? Did he not sign a contract agreeing to terms and conditions including his redundancy terms? I don't see the relevence of his redundancy terms.
Seems to me its just sour grapes about losing his job, though they should probably have been a little more discrete and compasionate in their methods.

My company made their director in charge of IT redundant 2 years ago... he got redundancy & £1M and quite frankly he was shit! We were running Novell GroupWise and Office XP in 2012. He walked into a meeting and called a new product "just a database" and walked out costing us a partnership agreement & £300K in fees from a client who was in the meeting at the time.

The rules are different at different levels in the company but if this twat got a decent payout then I'd have thought TC would've been due a better deal than £14K considering the money he has made for them through trading etc... 2 yrs ago he apparently was on holiday, flew back to stop Reece Oxford ;leaving on a free, and signed him up to a 5 yr contract.

He did get a testimonial a couple of years back.
His son says it's not about the money just the way it was handled by letter from hr.

lol, nope but when the recession hit and we took a 12.5% pay cut he was one of the few still drawing dividends out the firm. So he got paid too.

I read on kumb that the testimonial raised £500K for him, so he isn't broke but as you say, how they handled it was pretty twatish. It would piss me off no end.

It was dealt with poorly, but it's sour grapes to an extent and from the sounds of it a terrible move in terms of bringing through quality youngsters! This happens often and is actually ongoing at Arsenal, where a chap called Karl Laraman has been gaining more and more control of the youth side of things, bringing in his own coaches etc, and he has no track history of success in this area at all. I don't expect the goons to produce anyone of note all the time he is involved. Jobs for the boys exists in football, big time.

The story about the kid being released is just the reality of football. It's dog eat dog, and then some. I've got pals with kids at academies, they are 8/9 years old. The whole family are making preparations for mass retirements and planning their summers in 16 years time around world cups and european championships etc. The kids at this stage stand about a 1-2% chance of becoming a premier league player! It's a crazy world and extremely ruthless for the most part. Luckily there are some clubs who seem to be changing and viewing themselves as being part of turning these kids in to well rounded adults, footballers or not ( and the vast, vast majority will not become footballers )

If that kid was as succesful as his dad was saying, he'll get a chance. He can't complain about not being able to find a club because lower level clubs don't 'want to pay' for untested ex-academy players...er, if it's his dream, then play for nothing! Get a part time job etc

Yeah that article reared of sour grapes, he even says his kid had to block agents on LinkedIn from contacting him, no wonder he couldn't get a bloody club!

Thought they were already sold for £6m a year?

That deal was expected to be completed in May but its been delayed several times. If the deal isn't completed by August other companies can bid.
