West Ham know what they are good at and work on doing it well - set pieces and hitting teams on the counter. Frustrating that we seemingly do no work on set pieces, hopefully Conte changes that

Great work by Moyes. Genuine challengers at least for a top 4 place.
I'm amazed that Newcastle haven't gone balls deep in trying to prise him away with a mega pay packet. He's is jus the type of manager they require at present

Credit where credits due West Ham are looking good at the moment. Fair play to David Moyes he really has turned his career around and had real resurgence over past 12/18 months.
Not sure they will last the pace to finish top 4 there squad looks quite thin. However can’t see any reason why they won’t be challenging for 5th/6th and maybe even a cup

Not the league cup though, obviously!

I actually don't mind Moyes, he seems like a decent dude, and I love a good redemption story. Since we got Conte I've actually mellowed in my hate of other teams. I just know we're gonna be special.

Im actually amazed how well they are doing especially considering they are in the Europa league. Hopefully they fall away second half of the season.

I’ve never been convinced the EL would hamper their league form. I think a few of our fans were saying that out of hope more than anything else.

I've always thought this, we seem to be the only team who really struggles this way which is even funnier when you think how truly shit we are in that competition.

It pains me to say but I'm getting similar vibes from this West Ham team as I did the season there was no way Leicester could go on and win the fucking title.

I really hope I'm wrong.

They seem to get the 50/50 decisions. They score early, they then defend well (in numbers), if the other team equalises they will fight back on the counter.

I thought the Cresswell challenge yesterday was similar to the Holgate one against us. I also thought Allison was impeded for their 1st goal; push in the back from Antonio while Ogbonna jumps backwards into him. But like I say - those are the 50/50 decisions they seem to get quite often.

The problem is their confidence is at an all time high and until someone breaks that, they'll be up for it against anyone.

I really hope they start choking. As soon as possible. Please

Here we go again. If you are new to European football and your squad depth isn’t strong enough then it 100% does and must affect your season

So far it doesn’t seem to be effecting West Ham. Let’s wait until after Xmas!

History tells us it effects clubs in this position every single time!

Any examples as you seem so certain?

So you’ve no evidence then? Nice one. ?
It's very hard to prove of course.

Leicester won the league with no European football and went out in the first rounds of both domestic cups. The next season when in Europe they finished 12th.

The first season we got in Europe under Jol finishing 5th. The next we finished 11th.

I agree with much of what you post, however there are two very key distinctions between this West Ham and 2016 Leicester that I believe will ultimately mean that West Ham don't win the title, though I think there is a very real chance that they make top four.

The first is that West Ham are in the EL, which although they haven't had their league form affected yet might bite them in the spring. But that is by no means a guarantee.

The second and most important point is that every big side had an off year when Leicester won. Even Arse who finished second dropped four points compared with the season before, and all of Chelsea, City, United and Liverpool were poor. This year three of them are, despite yesterday's result, a fair bit of quality above the rest.

So I'm worried about West Ham for top four, certainly worried they'll finish above us again, but I'm not worried about them doing a Leicester.

Well they did lose their first two games after EL this season.

I also thought they were very average versus us and had we had Conte in for that one, we may have won.

To be fair, they were up for the Liverpool one but that could also be down to the fact they'd pretty much qualified from the group so went a bit easier against Gent. And it was a home game under the lights versus Liverpool, which generally raises levels.

To fair to us, under Poch in his second season we were pretty good even after EL games.

But I think the real rest will be for WH when they get into the second half of the year. When you go deeper into the EL, you can't prioritise, the games get tougher and injuries can start to creep in. If they have to play, say, Napoli in Naples on a Thursday night and then an away game against Wolves, they will start to become tested.

That's also when pressure ramps up.

Let's all hope that they hit a wall and at the same time we are start to hit some momentum.

They won't do a Leicester as they will be distracted by this.
