Let's All Laugh At... Let's all wonder what's going on at United?

As annoying as he is. Keane is 100% spot on with the current group of players and how different they are to players in his day and before.

This Is the captain of potentially the biggest club in the world and he pulls shit like this. In Fergie’s day he’d be out. In fact it wouldn’t happen in his day.

long may it continue

Didn’t Keane drunkly punch Schmiechel when they were on tour? Footballers have always got into trouble outside night clubs, it’s nothing new, and certainly not limited to the current generation of pros. If anything, I’d say it happens a lot less nowadays.

Be interesting if a footballer who physically assaulted a police officer gets away with a freebie while players whose "friends" have leaked private jokes have had bans for bringing the game into disrepute...

Worth a read for those who moan about our 'slow' transfers and how clubs like United are better at it.

Interesting read and sums up my summary of their situation.

They're really in a pickle.

Woodward is a useless negotiator, he lets a deal drag by refusing to pay the amount but panics and ends up paying it weeks later anyway. And as they mention (my brother says this about them too and it's his team) he can only focus on one transfer at a time.

The issue for them is that due to COVID, they're not really able to splash out, yet the players they really want will almost certainly cost an arm and a leg. Grealish, Sancho and Koulibaly will be about 250m+ and they are in no position to do that.

However, they don't come across as a club who have a good recruitment strategy in terms of buying at the cheaper - or pragmatic - end of the scale.

Rather than look for value in the market, their chief scouts seem to be focused on bringing in names that will get fans excited.

They actually have a good amount of players now, it just needs a bit of leadership and a couple of experienced heads. Yet their fans are craving a big money signing again.

It's weird because they used to criticise City and Chelsea for buying their way to success.

It's been the same for them for years, but people generally don't see it. Woodward is a bit of a Levy wannabe but seems to drive them all wild. I can see it, though - for all the complaints of missing out, imagine if we refused to buy the players our managers wanted BUT spend a fortune on a load of misfits.

I imagine they'll flirt with Sancho all season but end up buying Zaha back, or something stupid like that.

Assaulting a cop - resisting arrest to the extent 5 cops struggled to control him, and then allegedly offering bribe’s....

He should do time for that - especially in Greece where they are supposed to be quite strict.

What an idiot. Hope they treat him as they would any other individual - not special treatment for being a footballer.

Could you imagine the outrage if it had been Sterling, seems like Maguire has been getting an easy ride

Both Ferguson and Clough used to allow Roy Keane plenty of time away from the group so that he could deal with his issues without it impacting on the rest of the team. During his time as United captain, Keane frequently went back to Ireland for a massive bender with his family and friends and then, with his head cleared, he'd return to football. Given how aggressive and unstable he can obviously be, it's a testament to both managers that stories of Keane's off-field behaviour rarely found their way way into the papers...

It’s strange with him because when you see him on Tv he seems a decent lad. Just shows what alcohol or whatever can do to people. If one of the group tried to bribe the police too that can’t be good for them.

He is no different than any average Joe. A crime is just that, a crime. The Greeks have a tough reputation and I hope they throw the book at him. Shit like this is not acceptable. Does not matter what team you play for.

Released from custody. Apparently he was defending his sister.
Remember one of our players defending a family member, and he got a ban. Didn’t even touch a police officer.

In Eric's case, the police decided that there was no need to pursue a prosecution. It was the suits at the FA that made an issue of his behaviour and led to his 4 match ban.

Let's see what excuses the FA trot out when they inevitably decide not to take any action against Maguire....

(My expectation is that, at most, he'll receive a "strongly-worded reminder" about his future behaviour.)

Eric's was during a match, so I don't really see the corrolation.
