yeah and if its august 1st we will end up with no sponsor. plus it takes time for puma to put the sponsors logo on shirts, thus losing revenue from replicas shirts

Liverpool seem to have been very fortunate with their deal as it's the same as Manchester United's new £20 million per year shirt sponsorship agreement with Aon. I would have thought that Man U's profile was probably higher than Liverpool's in Asia - which seems to be the target market for all these corporations. It's even more surprising considering that Spurs had the third highest annual deal - ahead of Liverpool - but the Scousers suddenly got more than two and a half times their previous amount. Standard Chartered's negotiating doesn't seem to be up to much.

On the basis that, despite the recession, these two deals are worth considerably more than previous contracts (Man U up 30%) our deal should now feasibly be in the £10-12 million range if DL can manage it. No mean feat mind - there can't be too many mugs like Standard Chartered around.

Liverpool also have the leverage of two superstar's who don the club shirts.

Gerrard and Torres poster's are everywhere the world over. This may have some reflextion on the sC deal.

I'm not a marketing guy but my son's kick and match magazine's have Torres and Gerrard posters in them every week!

Good point, it's why we might be holding off until we bring in this big name striker that is apparrantly on the horizon.
