The Club can announce that it has reached agreement with Real Madrid for the transfer of Gareth Bale.

Gareth joined from Southampton in May 2007 and during his six years with the Club made 203 appearances, scoring 55 goals

Clever girl - except I've just checked the Modric quote and it's not 'word for word more embarrassing' at all - Levy never said 'we're pleased he's gone to Madrid' - he said we didn't want to part with him, but that we were pleased it was to Madrid (and not Chelsea). You conveniently make it sound like he wanted to sell him.

I can cut quotes apart to mean something else too:
