Agree- it’s one thing being realistic and not expecting a great deal from this game, it’s another to then throw the doomsday switch if it doesn’t go our way

Well it didn't go our way against Southampton, arsenal, Chelsea and Burnley.

When can we expect it to go our way?

Make no mistake about it, this is crucial game.

Wishing you and yours all the best mate.

Feel like I mega spammed the thread (more than usual)

Jitters and pre match nerves have kicked in !

I want a result from Anfield today so bad. Too many cousins and acquaintances here in Ireland are Liverpool fans.

We've shown resilience before - hoping for more of the same.

No worries.

My local pub is run by a Liverpool family but thankfully Mothers Day has saved me from having to endure being outnumbered by Scousers in my local, in southern England.
Plus I think southern Liverpool fans are even gobbier than their northern counterparts.

This is really no more daunting than Dortmund. It's more about mentality than anything else. We are light in CM but players like Henderson and Wijnaldum are hardly world beaters. Draw would be a good result but a win would be priceless. Getting beat would leave us an uphill struggle to get CL.

Part of me says we could spring a surprise today and it's difficult to argue with poster's who feel that we could get trashed today, however the new stadium has given the club a much needed shot in the arm of confidence and so hoping that translates over for the final run in

Could someone refresh my memory on the last time we won at Anfield?

I was there in March 1985 (34 yrs ago) when Crooks grabbed the winner. He scored in the Kop End goal where I was stood.

That sunk the Titanic 1912 myth.

If we set up like we've done against Dortmund away, I think we have a chance.

If we go toe to toe with a flat back four and push the likes of Trippier on, it's not going to end well.

I really hope Pochettino adapts for this, as we always do the same and the result normally ends the same as well.

They're at home and favourites, so I think a draw would be a great result today.

I'm going 1-1.

You'd hope that poch would play it the same way. Play deep, keep it tight and hit them on the break. Unfortunately, we've seen it too many times where we try to play silly buggers at anfield, make a stupid mistake around our box and be 1 nil down after 10 mins. The dortmund game makes me more hopeful of a pragmatic approach from Poch but I don't expect it.

Just a case of fuck up bingo. I'm going 1 nil down early to a defensive mistake, a Salah goal and possibly a bad ref decision for a red card. That's my pessimistic head talking.

My optimistic side says we keep it tight until 70 mins, their arsehole goes and we nick a winner.

Think the title race might play into our hands today, get past the first 20 minutes and i think there is game there for us to win. They're not as explosive as last year, but they have learnt how to grind out games. Could be a tight game.

But every time i am optimistic about us it always goes tits up.
