Trix.... you better than that.... I just think the hate on Dier is OTT( not you per se) more generally. .... some balance would be nice by the haters. I support the team and every player who puts on the shirt.

We are in the malaise we in purely as a result of the owners. Players have been mismanaged they've had 4 different managers in 4 years. Are we seriously expecting them to be at their best ?
I think there is a lot of imbalance posted on here and everywhere else for that matter that's just the nature of being an impartial football fan.

Fact is if you can't see that Dier was to blame at least in part for that goal yesterday then you are looking at it with that same imbalance imo. He has been making a lot of mistakes this season and deserves a lot of the criticism he is getting. It's not like the others aren't being criticised, they all are.

Kane is going to get fans player of the year, but in my opinion that's purely down to the numbers he's putting up. None of them deserve it from a performance consistency pov including Harry. There's no point in scapegoating any of them they've ALL let us down this season.

I don't think Dier is good enough to be a starter long-term for a team with our ambition but I also think the defence has been really badly coached.

They get no protection at all from the midfield, the team has no idea how to effectively press and when you combine these two factors with them being asked to defend so often it's no wonder that they're full of mistakes

Were now at the stage where even Romero looks a shadow of himself, Dier looks utterly broken and I'd say the only reason Davies and Lenglet don't is because they don't play all the time.

We have conceded more goals than teams like Fulham and Brentford and if it was suggested we were buying Tim Ream for example this place would explode.

Mason can't just turn everything upside down in a week but I suspect by the end of the season we will be in a back four with Emerson and Davies as full backs and having the instruction of staying back and keeping tight.

Ref watch on Sky:

Klopp yellow was warranted but 2 of the panel disagreed said it was passion and can be seen at lower leagues.

Jota all agreed definitely a red.
Skipp tackle on Diaz 2 agree not red and two say definitely a red. Warnock & Smith disagreed not really shocked.

Richy penalty 3 agree no penalty.

Not really surprised by any of the above.
Out of interest, what was their reasoning for concluding it wasn't a pen?

Setting the line is his job and he sets it further and further back inviting the pressure onto us.

He goes back, the others go with him and there is no pressure from our midfield, so Romero jumps out and inevitably makes a mistake.

I do think that he could potentially play on the right hand side of the 3 but Romero is ahead of him there.
Don't confuse him trying to push us up the pitch, with running 15 yards out of the back line to win a ball he's never winning. I agree he needs to lead that line better and drag is up higher at times but you do it as a group or not at all.

I genuinely fail to see how anyone who understands the game is making excuses for it. It was a fuck up, and others made mistakes also. Accept it and move on.

Just saw a video of Klopp defending Jota. Fair enough, a manager will always defend their player, but at the end of he said ‘I really think Ryan has other things to worry about’.

What a shitty, snidey thing to say. He’s one of the most unlikeable ****s in football.

I think the criticism of Eric is absolutely fair. But you know what - it's ok to call him out for his mistakes and performances but still like the bloke, believe in him and think he can have a place At this club for the next few years albeit probably altered from his current role.
He's not a bad person, he just has a fragile-confidence issue.
Same as Sanchez, Sess and a few more of our defenders.
The problem is that their dip in confidence becomes a bit contagious and rubs off on the defenders around them.
They all lose trust in each other.
If you had 4 rock-solid confident defenders in your squad - then they elevate the confidence of those around them.
We currently have more fragility than confidence and it really shows in how keeper and defenders perform as a unit.
We actually have a few decent defenders...but we need a few, new rock-solid minds in there to gel and elevate the others.
And a coach that knows how to develop and strengthen the psychology of all players.

That panel is as pointless as the Independent Police Complaints Authority. They protect their own every time.

I detest Liverpool and klopp but he’s not wrong here is he?

They’re such a good football team, Tottenham, they have to play better football.

"They can’t just counter-attack, they have to play better football with that team. “

TBF he's only saying that because he knows we should have beaten them. He's frustrated that our system worked against his apparently "resurgent" side.

I actually like Klopp..... wears his heart on his sleeve wrt his club... I might not agree with some of his comments but I like him all the same. A Top manager I'd rather him than some dour technical manager in match day press meetings.

It's not for Klopp to decide how other teams should play and act... or how other managers do their job. It's like his view on football is a religion others have to follow... I do agree that we should play better football, but Klopp should mind his own business.

If he's so interested in our club then we have a vacant manager-position he can apply for 🤷‍♂️

I actually think yesterday was a step in the right direction for the team. What we need is players to start to trust their own instincts again and find solutions to problems and yesterday I felt we started to see a few sprouting's amidst the mess. A good reverse ball from Skipp to Porro in the second started some very positive moves.

Let's face it, we're rudderless at the moment so we need to try and find what is the most we can extract from the remaining games and as far as I'm concerned, it's the players starting to realise that they have quality and have the ability to make decisions on the pitch in the moments, They've had Conte dictating every single touch and past for 18 months and for whatever reason there was a disconnect between the players understanding and his demands so they've been playing devoid of any trust in themselves the last few months. The best thing Mason can do is leave the players to it for the remainder of games and let them take some responsibility, it'll be a mess results wise but it will be something for the new manager to work with come next season.

Top of both. Tottenham and Lloris
I don’t know how they get to these stats though. Dier isn’t on that list and they have players that have made only one error leading to a goal?

haha how is Dier not at least on that list.

Having said that, the criteria for what’s actually an error in the real world and what passes for one on SC differs wildly so there was always going to be a discrepancy 🤪

100%. I don't get the hate for Klopp or Liverpool at all. They are top 6 rivals and I would have loved to see us beat them on their patch yesterday, but he's an extremely good manager, despite some of his annoying rants and selective memory/viewing. A few of their fans can be knobs of course but that applies to us too and all clubs.

People who say they hate Klopp/Liverpool more than Arsenal/Chelsea are 1. Talking nonsense 2. Are probably just really anti Northerners in general. Most Scousers speak pretty favourably of our club compared to the vitriol and hate/ living rent free in their head situation we get from fans of other London clubs .....

again nope. I’ll despise the scum, Liverpool, United and the chavs with every fibre of my being until the day I die, and hopefully beyond that in my reincarnation as klopp’s Freddie Krueger
