100%. I don't get the hate for Klopp or Liverpool at all. They are top 6 rivals and I would have loved to see us beat them on their patch yesterday, but he's an extremely good manager, despite some of his annoying rants and selective memory/viewing. A few of their fans can be knobs of course but that applies to us too and all clubs.

People who say they hate Klopp/Liverpool more than Arsenal/Chelsea are 1. Talking nonsense 2. Are probably just really anti Northerners in general. Most Scousers speak pretty favourably of our club compared to the vitriol and hate/ living rent free in their head situation we get from fans of other London clubs .....
I 100% get the hate. I used to admire Klopp greatly, but the last couple of years I've lost so much respect for him. For me, the thing that makes it so easy to dislike him now, is how much he has changed as he has got more successful. He used to be such a counter-force to the cynicism within world football, both on and off the pitch; he often spoke so eloquently about the game and was full of praise both for his own and others.

Sure, he has always been hot-headed and passionate, but his habits of pointing fingers at others, losing sight of objectivity, and picking fights have got so much worse. And that has happened while he has coached one of the best teams in Europe, winning both the PL and CL. One would expect him to develop a more dignified personality in that position, but instead he is straight up nasty to all but those in his corner.

Edit: Hate is a very strong word though. I wouldn't go that far.

I can't believe people like Klopp. He's the biggest bellend going.

His actions on the touchline are often completely unprofessional and disrespectful.

How we play is fuck all to do with him. Didn't see him moaning in the Champions league final when we had more than 60% possession, had more shots and completed nearly double the amount of passes.

Klopp is very likeable until the slightest thing doesn't go his way. Then he turns into a right prick.

Hardly Robinson Crusoe there but he was particularly hypocritical yesterday.

Don't confuse him trying to push us up the pitch, with running 15 yards out of the back line to win a ball he's never winning. I agree he needs to lead that line better and drag is up higher at times but you do it as a group or not at all.

I genuinely fail to see how anyone who understands the game is making excuses for it. It was a fuck up, and others made mistakes also. Accept it and move on.

Dier and Romero both bugger off up the pitch, the issue I see is that because there's no joined up thinking as a team (e.g when Verthongen would try one a game under Poch) in Romeros case he often ends up the most forward player with no pass or other option on inevitably lose it then leave a whacking great hole which nobody else has thought to cover (ironically Royal often ends up plugging it to some extent when he was underlapping Kulu)
It's a total lack of communication, leadership and unity back there; the biggest culprits for just panicking and yeeting the ball aimlessly back to the opposition under no pressure are Dier and Hojbjerg (I knows there's a time for just yeeting it (see Moura yesterday)

If he's back before the end of season I'd be tempted just to see what a back three of (LCB) Davies, (CCB) Romero and Emerson (RCB) is like with Perisic and Porro.
I want to see if Romero works better in the centre give him the responsibility back there (some players are better if you give them responsibility)
I want to see if Emerson could play that LCB role.

I've massively shifted on Dier from being okay with him staying as a squad player to he needs to be moved on.

I actually like Klopp..... wears his heart on his sleeve wrt his club... I might not agree with some of his comments but I like him all the same. A Top manager I'd rather him than some dour technical manager in match day press meetings.
Passion is one thing. Running up to the fourth official to scream in his face like a petulant man-child betrays a total lack of class.

Overall ignoring the individual fuck ups it felt like the first Roxky flick where we lost though we won!
Should have been a penalty all day long.
The other thing I took from the game is what an utter prick and knob Klopp is.

I separate my emotions between Klopp and Liverpool. It's a bit presumption of you to knwonwhat people feel.
Disappointing that you can not see reasons for not liking Klopp. Nor sure what rent free comments have to do with anything!
Ultimately we all love Spurs so best agree on that.

It takes a special kind of person to call out Mason who was speaking up against a potential head injury after Mason's career ended due to a head injury.

Klopp can do one. Then do another one. And plenty more.

I want to like Klopp, and he is definitely at or near the top of my ‘managers it would be fun to go for a a beer with, but he makes it nearly impossible with the level of prickery on match days. Before you say they are all the same, they aren’t. Jose it the only one who I can think of who was as much of a tool about officials etc

Have just read that Paul Tierney has been withdrawn from Ref duties next weekend. The article seemed to only be interested in his 'bust up' with Klopp whilst seemingly not bothering about the fact he missed a head high, studs first 'tackle' into the side of Oliver Skipp's head, which in his view warranted a yellow card.

So Jota should have been sent off (apparently would have been in the Champions League), but no mention at all about the Richarlison penalty..?

again nope. I’ll despise the scum, Liverpool, United and the chavs with every fibre of my being until the day I die, and hopefully beyond that in my reincarnation as klopp’s Freddie Krueger
add west ham to that list and I'm right with you.

Unlucky I thought. Three times hit their post, stone bonker of a penalty not given and not as far as I am aware referred to VAR. Let ourselves down again in the first thirty minutes but reorganised ourselves and got back into the game. Plenty of good/decent players for the new manager to sort out a good side for next season.
I think what Mason has shown in the last 2 games is that our team isn’t as bad as they’re being made out to be, that being said the defence obviously needs addressing this summer and we could still do with a creative linking midfielder.

I watched the whole Ref watch and Dermot Gallagher said red for Jota, no red for Skipp (not even a foul, just normal physical contact after getting a lot of the ball) and no penalty for Richy.

Regarding our defense, one of our issues is our lack of pace across the board. It is hard for our defense to push to high because they can all be beaten for pace. By sitting back, we can't compress the midfield which leads more possession and pressure against us. On the other hand, we have very little pace to threaten our opponents (Son being the exception), so other teams can press forward. We occasionally make teams pay, but in general they can afford to put more pressure on us.

Can we play better at the back, absolutely but we need to do a much better job as a club of having a mixture of player strengths in the team. Right now our defense all have the same flaw which is a lack of pace, not the only issue they have but it is the one that applies to them all.

My views on penalties have always been the same , ‘ if it was given would anyone argue ?’ and for me the answer is No , so it’s a pen . Arms all over Richi , how can that be argued if given . Plenty of pens given recently where the player has barely been touched .
Wouldn't liked our chances had it been Salah, It would been given.
