Well you've certainly more reason for believing that than I do for my prediction!

That said, I just think it will be much tighter than people think - providing we don't play a high line, we do that and you'll definitely be proved right.

I'd love to be wrong, but there's nothing about our games this season that makes me think we'll do anything other than put in yet another sloppy, disjointed performance. Most of the players are spineless, and I reckon they'll walk on to the pitch feeling already beaten. It's not like we've been playing well but just being unlucky with results. As a team we've been shit...just relying on individuals to produce something out of nothing.

What is wrong with people?
They have had a good season.
They are at home.
They are favourites.
But they ain't fahooking Barcelona and we ain't Blythe fahooking Spartans.

Probably blind faith, but for some reason I'm more confident as the week goes on. Our full week proper rest/training will be massive, plus they looked edgy on Weds.

Will be interesting to see how we set up after TS has had a full week to prepare, I am hoping to see a plan at least.

(Cue plan going out window when we concede within first minute)

I think we've shown signs of doing well a few times to be fair, the first 60 minutes at Chelsea was good, no doubt about it. We totally stifled them and looked the better side for that first hour even though we weren't exactly attacking with too much intent, we certainly had the better of the game in terms of control.

The problem of course was our weak mentality after the Vertonghen slip. So I agree there is a mental fragility there, without doubt. I'm just hoping we can weather an early storm and grow into the game.

So there isn't much evidence to support my instinct, but its there nevertheless.

Anyway, I'm not really disagreeing with you - just clinging on to a little hope, that's all but it doesn't mean I'm expecting anything.

If there's one thing we're all more prepared for now - its a good hammering lol, it won't exactly shock the system :)

Hard to know what to do, I'd probably try and do similar to Chelsea and play very disciplined and hope we don't implode this time, whilst trying to catch them on the counter.

Lloris
Naughton Kaboul Vertonghen Fryers
Chadli Sandro Someone* Rose
Eriksen
Adebayor
In the games against the top teams you have to be solid and organised, so I have gone with two banks of four. Rose can play ahead of Fryers and try to shut down that flank. On the other side its a case of Chadli or Lennon (unfortunately), I think Chadli can put in a shift going both ways. Sandro is a must, next to him I'd put some faith in Dembele if he isn't injured and hope to see him find some form. If not then I'd go with Bentaleb because he might put his foot on the ball and add some composure, but against a hard pressing Liverpool this might not be the best game for him. Still, preferable to Paulinho... Up front if Adebayor is fit then I think he is the better fit for this game. That might be harsh on Soldado, but that's the way I see it.

Well, there is always that I suppose :nailbiting:

Seriously, though, we have finished above them four seasons running, with a bigger points gap then they have on us now in the latter seasons, but even last year for their trip to WHL this forum was filled with whiny little biatches trying to find reasons to justify why they are sheeeeite scared of them, while they were giving it large about how we were shit and they were 'gonna twat us' (I kow, I read it on RAWK or somewhere). Now, they have had a good season getting adrenalin of good results at the right time while not having to compete in Europe and us and United having outstandingly bad seasons, and they are full of entitled smugness like they are gonna dominate Europe for another 5 gazillion years and we are a pub team they will swat out of the way (cue jokes about defending like a pub team), and our fans are bending over backwards to confirm that we are happy to climb back to our lowly position, and could they be gentle with us!

It's absolute BS - every one of our new acquisitions would improve their squad and, once settled, most of them would improve their first team. We are sixth, not sixtieth, so even with our much publicised problems we can't be that fahooking bad, can we? We have a hell of a lot to play for. We shouldn't have crumbled the way we did, but even our mahoosive collapses have been precipitated by sendings-off and other hokey BS, most of which were awful game changing decisions. And not one of them has shown any awareness what-so-ever that our back line at WHL was so far from what we would normally play and almost assembled, especially when being forced to play a high line that didn't suit them but would have suited Liverpool pretty much even with our first choice back four. I mean, we had our second choice right-back at left back, Capoue, who is a midfielder and was returning from injury, in central defence and being forced to play a high accompanied by the one of our four central defenders most completely ill-equipped to play a high line against anyone, least of all one of the quickest attacks in the league. And they are acting like that is our level and Sunday will be a stroll in the park for them. Confirming that they are ready to dominate the World. My arse. My feeling is that they will struggle to maintain a top four position next season.

I think Pinky is right...we did well enough at Stamford Bridge until Collapse Gate quickly followed by Quick, Ruin the Game with Pathetic, and Probably Corrupt, Officiating Gate. Do something similar on Sunday, don't give away any sloppy goals, and we can get a result (sorry, I know it's not what most folk want to hear - they would prefer we are shite, Liverpool will batter us, but, there you have it).

Hope Mr Dowd sees right through the Suarez falling over antics. Watched the Liverpool Sunderland game and he was on the floor every time someone came within 6 inches of him.

Yes some people on the telly say he has stopped diving. He has just got better at it.

Such a shame we don't have a fit and firing Lamela in our team ready for this match. The total output of our right side this season mainly between Lennon and Townsend has been pathetic.

I think a lot of people don't realise how good Lamela can be once he's given a run of games and adjusted to the league.

Adebayor's due a good game and I think Chadli could be useful against them. I'd love to see us get nick a scrambling away win.

It's all about keeping our heads and not losing our bottle.

They will come at us early and you fear for us if we concede an early goal. Their defence isn't good though and their players and the crowd will get nervous if they aren't in front by half time.

Sorry lads but if Naughton, Rose and Chadli are anywhere near the starting lineup then we're gonna be getting trolled big style. It's going to be painful, painful viewing, and I for one am glad I'm at 5-a-side on Sunday afternoon.

It's not just Suarez though... they are all at it...especially Sturridge and Sterling - they go down if a breeze picks up.

If Dowd falls for these shananigans, with 40k scousers demanding a sending off...it's quite likely it will happen. I just hope our players don't make any silly challenges.

Chadli has been playing well, would you rather Lennon or Townsend play before him?

We will get done on Sunday but we'll be back next season more settled and with a proper coach and our 7 signings will start to surprise a few and make others eat humble pie

The first sign of a fucking high line and them playing the ball through or over the top of it the tv is going off.

Has he? Chadli is as average as average gets. Yes, I would prefer Lennon. No I wouldn't prefer Townsend, I think he's dreadful.

Mate I am/have been a Lennon fan - but even I have to concede now, he hasn't been good enough and isn't going to improve at his age. Good defensive qualities for a winger but nowhere enough end product because he lacks intelligence, wit and guile.

For where we want to be he's not good enough to be a regular starter anymore.

Chadli has been impressive of late, so don't get your logic really.
