I was under the impression he was a good finisher. Not going to pretend I've watched him really closely numerous times, but that was my impression.

Always thought he was a scorer of great goals rather than a great goal scorer.

He's no Van Nistleroy, but he has a 1 in 2 record in the PL over two seasons with 2 different clubs and has exceptional pace. That'll do for me. He won't necessarily be first choice anyway, he'll just provide something different and genuine competition and cover in two positions. What do people want? We won't be blowing our entire transfer budget on him.

I find it very odd that no one seems bothered about adding midfielders and defenders to a very bloated squad, but seems scared to have too many strikers.

Remember we are in the EL this season and want to have a real crack at it. We need a big squad and Kane will still get plenty of game time. And in Jan Ade will be off and may come back knackered. No guarantees Soldado is going to going to work out this season either.

Although I didn't agree with the look of this exact team, I still find it amusing how some people label Van Gaal a genius for the 3-5-2 formation (Chiles mentioned it in World Cup to Martin O'Neill's anger), yet Hodd gets treated like a dinosaur for suggesting it months before.

Would loved to have seen Hoddle get the caretaker role instead of Sherwood and although I'm sure many will hit me with a "Disagree", I find it mystifying that the man has been without a coaching role for 8 (Vidiprinter EIGHT) years!

I remember thinking at the time that would have been a good formation for us change some of the personnel and he could have been good.

The media van gaal wankfest is nauseating. I can't wait for him to start having a go at them after a few bad results. Im sure they will start writing a few different pieces then!

Just thinking that QPR's CB pairing is getting on....Ferdinand is coming 36 and what age is Dunne - around the same age?

I know Dawson has entered his thirties...but maybe they'd fancy pairing him with Rio?

They have Caulker though. But I still wait for Harry to take one of his lads from us to him.

Dawson + 4m = Remy
and
Townsend + 7m = Schneiderlin

would be terrible good business.

They have Caulker, but there are rumours they are going to go 3 at the back so you never know.

Argh...forgot about Caulker.

Not sound confident now. And they have Clint Hill as a fourth option.

Good Lord, if they play 3 at the back consisting of Rio, Dawson and Caulker... It's going to look like they are playing in quicksand.

Definitley we need to push this deal whether we buy him at the end or not. We should turn his head so he won't play next Sunday.

to get space in the squad and get Schneiderlin? Just my opinion mixed with rumours.
Dont see us letting him go in the slightest, Poch has even pretty much said as much. Townsend changed the game yesterday when he came on, although he wont get credited for it on here.
