We were talking about Liverpool beating us to the signing of Diaz and the reasons / context around that.

Diaz is joining Liverpool so what else do you want the thread to be about now?

Why he chooses Liverpool over us? He has to share minutes with Mane or Salah there. I understand we are not in Champions league but in Spurs he would have been a key player for sure just like Kane or Son. Not to mention there are quite a lot of latinos in the Spurs.

Yeah.

If you wanted to ensure you get quality players in regardless of what is going on then you would have a smart strategy in place.

A strategy such as having 3 or 4 quality attackers lined up. Knowing that clubs like Liverpool are interested too, you'd move quickly to draw them out, so that they are out of the picture, then you'd move to another quality option.

Liverpool have been linked with Raphinha, Antony, Bowen and a few other attacking players.

We aren't going to be some player's first pick, so we need to find a way to get these clubs off the table of options for these players.

Maybe we are doing that now, but it doesn't really feel like it.
