I'm fully behind this potential transfer in place of a backup target man this window. If you have another player in Diaz who like Son can potentially score 15-20 a season then Son/Bergwijn can be an adequate backup to Kane. Our issue is not so much the lack of a traditional striker, it's that none of our other attacking options (Moura, Lamela, etc...) seem capable of scoring double figures in a season.

Liverpool have proven that with the likes of Jota, Salah and Mane being their goal threat.

Remains to be seen whether it is different than Skriniar (or the innumerable similar failed transfers before him). Supposedly things have changed and there is greater willingness to spend than in the past. We'll know by the end of the window whether they truly have done.

I don't know much about this guy but as well as playing off the left in a front 3, would he possibly be seen as similar to Martinez/Lukaku ie: Diaz/Kane in a 3-5-2.

I talked about Luis Diaz to Spurs last summer but it was never materialized. The guy is an amazing player. He won the “revelation player of the Copa America 2021”. Quite possibly the second best in the tournament after Messi.

He’s got all it takes to be a world class winger. I would be surprised if the Spurs can get him though because he is worth much more than €45 million +. Way better than Bergwjin or Gil.

I would be super happy if we get both him and Adama. We would be super dangerous from both sides.
