That wasn't Chelsea's fault. That was UEFA's stupid ruling. Chelsea had a right to defend the trophy, while we also earned the right for a chance to qualify (finished 4th so still not in the group stage). I hate Chelsea as much as the next guy, but they aren't to blame for that. It just happened to be them.

UEFAs stupid ruling was based purely on arrogance imo. They didn't for see how a team who would have to be a big rich club and very good to win cl could possibly ever finish outside a qualification place in their respective league.
Chelsea were crap that season and to say they rode their luck to win cl would be an understatement.
