Kane's going to look so good with a mullet and a mustache.

Hi first post here.

Just about Ange, being an Aussie I have a fair idea how he operates. He is fanatical about the game, the fact that he is on "holidays" won't stop him preparing to the best of his ability before he starts officially in July.

He is extremely well organised, whether that translates to the success the fans want I don't know, but if he doesn't succeed it won't be due to a lack of effort.

Going by what happened at his previous clubs he won't be afraid to clean out the squad, he seems to prefer working with a squad he can shape himself as much as possible.

romario, is that you? 😜

Yeah that's not how we do things round here.

This is original and great in terms of a tune - not a crappy rehash.

I applaud
It's great, you can add (maybe not so great, but I'm sure someone can do better):

Making do with a fried-out Ndombele
Ossie's sad, knees no longer trembly
We hired a strange Angie, he made us nervous
He shouted at us don't pass it backwards

Nah. Players like Winks, Sanchez etc… who have 1 year or less on their contracts the decision will have already been made by the club to sell on. We have analysts and coaches at the club that will inform Ange why they won’t be up to the required level.
The same analysts and coaches that couldn’t see that for the last three years ?

"G'day my dearest Spurserinos, it is I, Cobber McAussie.

I have frequented these sunlit pastures for many a season but only now do I stick my head above the parapet to share the breadth of my knowledge for I am a genuine bonafide, Australian, (mate).

In the land down under, Munn is known as 'Don Munnchables" for his voracious appetite in the transfer market, while I assure you, our dear leader Ange Postecoglu (a close friend of my second cousin's wife) does not suffer fools gladly, let me tell you.

Mate."

They obviously could but it takes time to totally rebuild the squad. The decision makers at the time obviously thought their level of performance was sufficient enough at the time and prioritised other positions.

Just a question related to our new manager to our Aussie SC community. Why does Australia have such a large Greek community? Was there a time when Australia was a Greek colony? Did Alexander the Great have a run-in with a kangaroo with a nasty jab that led to a subsequent invasion?

Because racism, basically. Australia had a White Australia policy in the 1800s-early 1900s that essentially said only Brits and similar could emigrate…and they were encouraged to do so to mitigate potential immigration from Asia, among other things. Then after World War Two they realized that there wouldn’t be enough to do the job so they opened it up to other European countries such as Italy, Greece and Yugoslavia. There was a significant influx at that time, not surprisingly since Europe was recovering from the war.

When I was a kid, the top football teams in Sydney were Sydney Olympic (Greek) and Sydney Croatia. My Dad was a Sunday morning keeper and he says there were often tooled-up battles between fans of e.g. Serbian and Croatian teams.

Agree with all this but it's the last line that's key. He can ask but will he get backed? I mean properly backed, none of this half arsed shit anymore.

The jury is out and history suggest he won't be but he does seem like the kind of guy who won't take any shit and hopefully the penny has finally dropped with Levy.

We live in hope anyway......
Levy would never drop a penny

Thanks. I was wondering why many Aussies also had Eastern European surnames (ending with 'ic'), this explains that too.

And don't forget the Poles, Ukrainians and Russians.
The old National league was very ethnic biased.
Adelaide City (Italian), West Adelaide (Greek), Marconi (Italian), Melbourne Knights (Croatia) etc etc.
The A-League changed that after a wide ranging report suggested sweeping changes to take the "ethnicity" out of football in Australia.
Smaller clubs had to change name and it is much better now from an inclusion perspective with admin from clubs replacing the old school die hard dinosaurs of old.

I've watched a ton of interviews both with Ange himself and also ex players, and people that have worked with him. He sure does tick A LOT of my personal boxes.

Overall Positive attitude - check
Let the other team worry about us, not the other way around - check
No problems dropping big names if they don't do what he wants - check
Is standoffish and doesn't form personal relationships with players - check, its been said many times thats things can be too comfortable at spurs.
Understands football from the fan PoV - check
Understands the importance of the academy - check
Plays rock and roll football - check
has that enviable quality of being blunt while staying classy - check

He reminds me a bit of BMJ, a bit of Poch, and a bit of Redknapp. Hopefully he's the perfect combination of those 3.

But please, Spurs fans, be patient, regardless of early results. We won't see sweeping changes overnight. this team has been coached in a negative way for 4 years and it takes time to completely 180 that mindset.
