It's just modern football parlance for every new manager's style ever since it got popularised by Sarri-ball when he came over to Chelsea.

If we'd hired Slot it would've been Slot-ball.
Arteta-ball really should be called 'I copy-Pep-ball'

And I'm a hipster ball should be called 'I-will-knock-the-jumped-up-little-prick-out-if-he-dares-try-that-shit-on-me-mate-ball'

Metalhead

But that's a debate for another thread.....

I.just wonder what Alan Ball would have made of it all.

New quotes from Deki in the Evening Standard:

"I like him a lot," Kulusevski said of Postecoglou. "Also in half-time he was very angry because we stopped playing for five minutes and you cannot be like that.

"You have to play always. Just because you're tired, you [can't] let them have the ball. Things happen like that. So I like him a lot and I'm looking forward to improving under him.

"He said [at half-time] we always have to play. Don't shoot away the ball, don't stop pressing, don't waste time. Always play, play the same and don't think about the score or the time. Just play and have fun.

"It is fun actually. I love it. You have to be physically very good, I love that too. I'm enjoying having a lot of the ball higher on the pitch. So I'm very grateful to have him.

"Last season, maybe we scored one and then we tried to protect the result. So of course we have to improve but second half was very, very good.

"Everything takes time in life. But the thing is we really really have to believe in it. It's not enough if he's trying to make us believe. We all have to do it. But we're in a good way, I think. This was the first game when we played 90 minutes. We're happy, we ran a lot. It was quite good.

"I know exactly what he wants from me. He wants me to attack the box much more when the balls are on the side and when I have the ball just go go all the time and don't care if I lose it. Just keep going."

Asked if Postecoglou wanted him to score more goals, Kulusevski added: "Exactly. We all want to score much more. When we go 1-0, we want to score the second, not back off. So we all we want to score much more.”

Brilliant inside from Deki. I like that a lot, a breath of fresh air after dull-as-hell football under Mourinho and Conte.

Ange was stood on the touchline mate for a good few mins whilst the players were nowhere to be seen. He may have ripped in to them at half time but he wasn’t doing so whilst everyone waited.
Thanks for that. I was in the East Upper so I couldn't see him out there at that point, especially as he was all in black!

I think we will struggle for a few weeks as there was some huge gaps that better players will exploit yesterday but as fans we need to stick with it and back him as this guy may very well be the glue that the club has needed

For those that enjoy A LOT of detailed analysis on how Ange might overcome the top teams:

It's an educated guess as to how both sides will play. We need to just wait and watch the games in real life, because even with Ange's tactics there's no guarantees as to how it will play out against the top teams.

As Mike Tyson once said, everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.

Sky just reported that not only are refs going to add more time for delays in games, they are also cracking down on players causing delays (e.g. by stopping quick free kicks being taken, kicking ball away etc).

This really suits Ange's style of football as our opponents will have less opportunity to slow down our incessant non-stop play or they will end up with cards for doing so.

Hope our ball boys are in intensive training too!

I think this will happen for a few weeks and then just stop, just like the keeper 6 second law, which is still a law by the way.

You just know this will somehow find a way to cost Spurs a point or two in a high-profile spot before they decide to change the rule/its enforcement.

That’s still a rule?? I always wondered what happened to it, they were shit hot on it for about half a season and then it just fizzled out

Probably, and the 6 second thing still annoys me. 🙄
I've spent the last few years counting to six every time an opposition goalkeeper picks up the ball - so many indirect free-kicks we've been robbed of, Harry could have passed Shearer's record already.
Hopefully it will be re-instigated as part of this new effort to banish time-wasting.

Probably best being timed and flagged by VAR ref, given on field refs have enough to do…

Shame, wouldn’t have made any difference if they were direct free kicks though

Right now I'm super glad we didn't get Slot or Nagelsmann... there's just something about Ange that's a perfect fit for us... his playing style, the way he speaks and acts in the media, his personality, how he's handling the squad and the fans... and he knows the british game.... could this be a bullseye appointment from the club ? 🤔🤔
