why does he deserve particular praise for starting to right his own wrongs of the past 5 years?

And Maddison has said that Ange was one of the biggest pulls in joining the club. And signing a very good player after the mismanagement of the club meant we sold maybe our best ever player isn’t overly special.

It’s going to take more than one seemingly good appointment for Levy to deserve much praise in my opinion.
It's easy to just blame everything on Levy, people were torn on Jose and Nuno, sure, but I don't remember many fans being unsure on Conte. And despite what everyone tries to say, we've spent pretty heavily ever since Poch's last summer, each manager has been backed. How much were the hirings of Jose and Conte to appease Kane? Significant proportions of our fanbase welcomed their hirings as a sign of us looking to try and win trophies and didn't care about the style of play.

The people who want to moan about Levy, will just always interpret the facts to fit the narrative. We only got Poch by accident, etc.

Ange is a great hire, and the changes that have been made over the past couple of years in terms of recruitment, and now the staffing, should see Levy getting credit from everyone.

Classic - when things go wrong it's his fault, when things go right it has nothing to do with him.

I think if you're going to criticise the mistakes you have to give credit when things go well.

It always feels like we don't really have a plan or we do but quickly change it, so when things go right (which still remains to be seen) it feels more lucky than anything.

We have been down this road many times, for me to get back on board with Levy I need to see more than just a good start to the season

I see that sentiment echoed a lot that we don't have a plan but I think it is clearly false.

You may say (with some justification) that we had the wrong plan or we executed the plan inneffectively but we clearly had a plan. The plan when Levy took over was to become a side that regularly qualifies for the CL with world class facilities....we got there but the problem is we did'nt win anything..how do you right that? You appoint serial winners like Mourinho and Conte. We all knew the football would suffer but I think a lot of people were willing to accept that if we won things.

I don't want to come down too much on the side of Levy because at the end of the day the buck stops with him and standards should be high but the truth is it's easier to blame him for a lot of people than face the reality that to challenge and win things as a self-sustaining entity (while building billion pound plus facilities) is nigh on impossible in the modern game....especially from where we were coming from as a club when ENIC took over.

I hope that shorter version takes off in the stadium, without the mention of Poch being dead.
Obviously it's not literal but I prefer the song to celebrate Ange, rather than mourn for Poch.
This one is right, Chelsea can keep Poch.

Ndombele was Poch's fault.
NDombele was scouting teams fault. They should have been doing this research and presenting it back to Poch. Hindsight of a wonderful thing. Don't forget, there were other teams in for him and we all thought we pulled off cracking signing

Is poch a scout now? From what I remember he wanted De Jong and didn't get him. Also think he wanted Bruno as well and we ended up with Lo Celso.

Probably more a dig at levy for going for the second choices like we're doing with Brennan Rogers according to itk.
