Very defensive aren't you?

I would imagine that you blind hatred of Jol and your "facts" that have now clearly been demonstrated to be completely fictional (including the number of seasons at a club, seriously that is basic) have led you to get so defensive.

It's OK to be wrong you know.

I just feel sorry for BMJ that once again he is going to a club that will be happy to sell its best players (like the last two clubs and to an extent Spurs didn't really back him).

My memory is not perfect. However the general facts are correct. Jol spent millions while at HSV. He lost two stars but bought a few players of his choice. Wolfsburg and Hertha are equivalent to Birmingham and Bolton in BPL. HSV did not finished fifth to Munich, Shalke or Dortmund under jol. Its also true that reports in Germany indicated HSV was about to sack jol when Ajax came in for him.
You can love him but be gentlemanly enough to accept others who differ from you. Small minded men are fools.

He lost De Jong in Jan as well. That's like taking VdV, Modric and Daws away from our team. Also Wolfsburg won the bloody thing, everyone finished behind Wolfsburg. Jol had his best players sold but still managed to finish 5th, one position bellow the previous season. Whats more that season HSV where involved in a title battle, a UEFA cup semi-final and all of this resulted in Jol having the best win ratio a hamburg manager has had since 1980, in fact I recall (possibly wrongly) that Jols excuse for leaving was Hamburgs failure to reinvest money they gained from selling their best players. btw since Jol has gone they have been through 4 managers (including Moniz has caretaker )

He did not spend millions

Signings of HSV under Jol

Janson - £7m
Petric - £4.5m
Tiago Neves - £6m
Aogo - £1.5m
Pitroipa - -(part of £1.5m deal)
Silva - £5.5m
Tavares -£1m
Sinouh - free

Total - £25m

Loads of money spent that was, at the same time they sold under Jol

Sorin- free
Zidan - £4.5
Kompany - £6m
Fillinger - free
VdV - £11m
Brecko - free
Zimmerman - very little
Tiago Neves - £6m
Odijidja-Ofoe - £0.5
De Jong - £18m

Total-£36m

Jol had so much money to spend, so much so in the Jan window he spent the total of 1m while in total he probably spent £25m, honestly

yeh VdV said he was leaving before Jol even got the job, tried his best to keep him but alas to no avail. Jol is apparently a massive VdV fan however.

For Ajax he bought El Hamoundi

For HSV, Jensen was bought, which appears out of favour now but he did a good job the season Jol was incharge

He also followed Atouba wherever he went, even though Jol clearly doesn't rate him.Jol drops Atouba from Spurs side. Atouba moves to Hamburg, Jol moves to hamburg, Jol drops Atouba from hamburg side, Atouba moves to Ajax, Jol moves to Ajax, Atouba is dropped.

I think he has worked with a DoF at all of his clubs though. He only made signings for spurs for one season, before Commoli after Arneson and he signed these players-

Y.P.Lee
Jenas
Davids
Routledge
Tainio
Huddlestone
Lennon
Staltieri

I think you can rule out Lennon, Hudd and Tainio. Tainio was definitely signed on a free from Auxzerre in the winter of 2004 and I reckon Lennon and Hudd were lined up while the season was still going on.

But that still leaves the two full backs, Davids and maybe Jenas- all excellent signings.

Signings of HSV under Jol

Janson - £7m
Petric - £4.5m
Neves - £6m (max)
Aogo - ??? - Signed from second division team
Pitroipa - ??? - Signed from 2nd division team
Silva - ???
Tavares -£1m
Sinouh - free

Total - £35m - being really generous

Loads of money spent that was, at the same time they sold under Jol

Sorin- free

Please HSV is in Germany, and in Germany that is a lot of money. You forgot he signed Thiago. Teams in Germany bar Munich spent peanuts compared to BPL. Jol's HSV is out done by team that spent a fraction of HSV.
Do compare apple with apple.
And you calculated he spent at least 10m, which is indeed millions isn't it?
Hertha cannot even afford Veronin, their top scorer on loan, for a mere 4M.

HSV is Bundesliga not BPL. You, mister, is the ignorant one. You are bliss. :)

Sorry! I must have missed the bit where I said that HSV is in the BPL, could you do me a favour and find it for me?

No?

I win at internet!

What gaining at the minimum £1m but probably over £10m is a lot of money?

I did included Tiago Neves, the only Tiago to play for HSV and one which was sold after 6 months.

Do you want me to get the figures spent by other teams that finished above HSV (not counting sales)

Wolfsburg

Zaccardo - £6m
Barzagli - £10m
Caiuby - £2m
Misimovik - £3.5
Pekarik - £0.5
Okubo - £1.5

Total £23.5m compared to HSVs £25m

For starters, but Jol started the season with a club worth less money then the HSV that ended the season before in 4th. Belive me the German HSV fans on a german forum seemed to think he was a success

Great guy and will get an ovation at the lane that Harry has never had ...BUT.....lets keep it real, Jol is a nice bloke but only an above average manager,i would consider it a step backwards if he were to rejoin us.

Hopefully B.M.J. does better with the nutter at Fulham as C.E.O. than with the one that undermined him at W.H.L.
