personally im a bit more concerned about his age - i would like to see someone younger brought in, however im sure petrov would do a decent job for us.

Looking at the rumors of Rose and Petrov, perhaps they are trying to bring in youth and cover until the former is ready. Granted that is all based on a rumor that is seeming less and less likely with Rose. But if it does happen and he is as talented as many believe then Petrov gets a 3 year contract, starts this year, allows Rose some playing time next and becomes backup in his final year.

he still has four/five good years in him...class player who will make a huge difference to our side.

Petrov isn't injury prone as many people on here think. He only had 2 serious injuries I think and he has recovered. He scored 2 goals since he recovered from his injury (6 or 7 matches played)

This has got to be the most drawn-out transfer of all time. Sign the guy he makes most sense for the LW spot

At 8.5 million Euros, he'kll be a great buy if he can give us 3 years of high quality wing play. This will give time for Lennon and Rose, if we get him, to mature into top class wingers.

Why do Spurs transfer always drag on and on and on...?
Most recent ones: Giles Barnes, Rose, Prince, SWP, Davies...and, of course, Petrov...

I think people are being a bit ignorant about Petrov's injury. He had a very bad injury but to say he has a problem is making an issue out of very little. He is fully recovered and is no more likely to be injured in his knee or any other part of his body then had he not got that injury.

He will be a fine signing!

Agreed! Ferguscum signed Van Nistlerooy after he tore his anterior cruciate ligament, rest is history.

Would be a very good signing to be honest. Watching the game today, although tabs done a good job, we are still in desperate need of a player that can do a great job on the left flank. Hope he signs soon.

bubble, your sig.....Huddlestone is more suited to that. King is one of the best CB in the country and prefers it there.

Hudd is played too far up the park, in 2 years he could be one of the best defensive screening midfielders in the country, his distribution is among the best already.

Huddlestone is the perfect player to play in the same side as Petrov and Bent. Two players who love to play off the last man and thrive on being released early. We saw today how effectively Bent and the Hudd can be, but we also saw how well the Hudd spreads the play and he kept trying to ping it out to Routledge. A more experienced player like Petrov will find more space than Routledge and the Hudd has the ability to release him 2 or 3 times a game.

I wonder what airport Petrov was heading to - Manchester or Stanted? These tv stations never pick up on or tell us about something like that, which would give us a much better clue about where he's likely to go!!!
