IF you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:

If you can dream - and not make dreams your master;
If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools:
If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: 'Hold on!'
If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
' Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch,
if neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!

Please Levy stick to your guns, learn from your mistakes and keep working tirelessly hard to make our club a success. Fools lose their heads at times of difficulty, in a position of power you will be criticised for everything whether it is your fault or not. Quitting now will not help our club.

This illustrates the need for an effective, independent fans organisation. To stop ill thought out and possibly inflammatory protests. If we had a Supporter's Trust that wasn't at the beck and call of the club, then it could open a dialogue with the management of the club and make the concerns of the fans known to it in a calm, measured and non-confrontational way. All confrontation would do is inflame the situation and I don't believe Levy is the type to respond to it.

Anyone hear about this until it was in the Daily Mail? No, didn't think so. Is it perhaps being stirred up by them because they're still really pissed off with Levy over the Matthew Norman situation?

No problem with any considered and sincere demonstration but please have more sense than becoming Dacre and co's pawns. They are probably even printing the leaflets at Derry Street.

Thought I'd post this in here as it seems the appropriate venue. This is Hairy Barrell's (from FTL) plan which I mentioned the other day in a thread asking for constructive questions.

He's actually got the website sorted out and things are moving forwards. I know everyone isn't in support of this idea but at least he's doing something so if people want to help let me know and I can get you in contact with him.

www.saveourspurs.co.uk is now primed and ready for action

I now own the aforementioned site, which will be on the online centre for not just this but future spurs fan campaigning.

I suggest the following action in tandem with anyone ready to throw sometime effort and possibly a couple of quid behing getting th band wagon rolling:

1. The site will be used to capture the views of fans on mass and ro capture their email addresses for future two way communication and possible instruction.

At first the site will be simple....please fill in your email details, fill in the questionnaire and we will get back to you with the findings, which we will also take to the club and the press.

Ste has already said he will help with the pages but we do need to have the site hosted, the ability to write and post questionaires, post polls and show findings and email on mass to all fans that particpate.

Can anyone help in this area?

2. I have a number of posts already with your proposed items for the first questionnaire. Could anyone with further items please PM me with the detail.

I only really post here, so I dont have access to the Trust (other than through Darren A), the other boards, overseas groups....all of those fan groups that are important to get the first questionnaire spot on. Could someone help here please.

3. One the site is up and running, we need to circulate both via email and via leflet at the ground, a simple flyer asking fans to be part of a fan consultation paper, designed to bring about change at the club we love.

A simple piece with a clear calll to action, website address, a couple of short samples questions from the online survey and a clear indication, a list of all fo the associations, message board, overseas groups that are supporting the iniative.

Once this is emails and sent out, we should give people a short deadline to complete. We will get back to them, via email, with the next steps and findings from the survey and the action we intend to take the press and the club.

Can someone help with the printing here. We can all help at handing out leflets at games.

4. Once this first phase is complete and we have a solid consensus and significant numbers, we then, at the same time, send our findings to the club and the press. We do not seek the clubs permission and we present the paper as being reflective of all Tottenham fans, here and overseas.

5. At this point, we may want to consider further protests and demonstrations but we shuld wait and see what response we get from phase one. We will have collected email from all survey particpants and we can easily mobilise further action.

Any additioal thoughts, suggestions and help greatly appreciated but this is about get significant numbers from ALL spurs fans and making our voice heard loudly.

We are about to lose our Spurs....and I for one am not prepared to sit back anymore and just let that happen. I dont know what the answer is...and that the next best thing turns out to be a disaster also but the current situation does not bear thinking about....so acton now is needed.

Forgot to mention that this isn't linked to the protest on Sunday. In my opinion this is a much more sensible and considered approach than a knee-jerk protest.

TSH if the consensus is clearly 80-20 in favour of the board and the status quo will the same level of effort be put into briefing the press?

Sorry mate as soon as anybody starts involving the "press" they lose me even if they had me before, they peddle enough shit without us feeding it to them.
I do appreciate your way is better than the fucked up load of bollox behind the supposed protest on Sunday but I'll pass if you don't mind.

The Mail are scum and hate Spurs.

We need to be united behind the team. Any soap opera will make things much worse.

A) Rubbish-they would not keep their heads.
B) It isn't going to happen to Arsenal.
C) Forget the consequences-we've had enough and we've had enough for years. This club is slowly being destroyed and in this sort of circumstance the top men need to be packed off-like Gordon Brown has done with the greedy Bankers who took what they wanted at the risk of everything else.
Errors have been continually made and someone has to take responsibility. It has to be Levy and Commoli. We don't want to get ANOTHER new manager and ANOTHER new team-we have the evidence right in front of us as we look at this situation-IT.....DOES.....NOT.....WORK. And the DoF DOES....NOT....WORK.

The guy doing it is genuinely going to put up whatever the views are of the majority. He's not in the 'Levy out' brigade in the same way that some of the kneejerkers are.

Fair enough if you don't want to be involved though...that's the point of these things.

I'm fuming about this.

If it's April and we are marooned in mid table doing an impersonation of one of West Ham's glory season's, then protest away if you really want 'cos it won't affect the team.

But we are not, we are in the s**t so we need all the support we can get. We need noise.

We know that some of them are overpaid mugs but when they are in our shirt they are OUR overpaid mugs and we need to get behind them.

Most sensible fans are still with Levy and the board so this 'protest' is futile.
