oh, well, that's good night, such good football but there are some negative about our game, Palacios lost the ball too cheaply several times & selfish Crouch with 2-3 times could cost us the game if City scored 1-2 and put us nerves late time .. why the hell he decided to shoot instead of giving it to Palacios who was in much better position to do it !

the most important thing for us to avoid any complacency if we want the top four, we need to respect teams even at home, we avoid this attitude if we are up 2-0, that's exactly what happened against Everton 2-0, he missed golden chance before Everton first goal. so thanks too poor City, if they played better, it could 2-1 or 2-2 instead of 3-0, sometimes the difference between teams

Goms 6 - not much to do this game
Corluka 7 - solid
Dawson 7 - did well
Bassong 8 - strong
Ekotto 9 - best performance for him this season
Huddlestone 7.5 - ok
Palacios 7 - worked hard but please please please i've enough of poor passes !
Lennon 7.5 - threat
Kranjcar 8 - scoring two goals, did ok apart from that to be honest.
Defoe 8 - worked very hard to create something for himself
Crouch - don't deserve a rate as almost cost us by not necessary selfish, Pav to start the next.

Redknapp, needed to refresh legs.. he didn't use his subs until added time !

Can't believe Crouch would get less than an 8 from anyone on tonight's performance - thought he very, very effective tonight. Created at least 5 or 6 very good chances from knocking down excellent headers, one of which we scored from. Certainly up there with Nicko as the two outstanding candidates for MoM for me.

Gomes 7 - Not really worked, but anything he had to do he done well
Corluka 7 - Lost the ball a lot in the first half but got better in the second half and was good defensively
Dawson 9 - Rock solid. Had Adebayor in his pocket
Bassong 8 - Was very good as well and made some good tackles
BAE 8 - Good defensively and an extra mark for nut megging Adebayor
Lennon 8 - Slyvinho will be having nightmares tonight.
Hudd 6 - Alright. Passing was a but hit and miss and he seemed to shot anytime he got near the box. Closed down well for 70 odd minutes but then started to get tired
Palacios 8 - Broke up the play and made some excellent tackles. He was all over the pitch. Passing was a bit dodgy, but played a lovely through ball to Lennon in the first half
Kranjcar 8 - Class again. Great signing
Defoe 7 - Worked hard and good reaction to Crouch's header. Held up the ball well at times, but also held onto the ball too much.
Crouch 7 - Caused a lot of problems. For the last 20 minutes though he seemed to shoot no matter where he was on the pitch.

Congratulations, you have made a late push and nudged over the line at the last minute for the Stupidest Sentence I've Seen On SC In 2009 award. Of course, it's just your opinion... but it happens to be utterly, utterly ridiculous.

Kranjcar MOTM. The guy has been pure class since coming in. Is Modders gonna get his place back?

Gomes - 7, two saves all game really
BAE - 8, was solid tonight, back to his best
Dawson - 8 - A rock, no nonsense, bossed City's strike force
Bassong - 7 - Was solid once again tonight after a couple of shaky performances
Charlie - 7 - Was very good again, kept Robinho quiet first half, and Petrov for most of the second. Got forward well to help out Lennon too

Kranjcar - 9 - As above
Hudd - 7 - Decent enough with his distribution, good tackling and tracking back
Palacios - 8 - Really put himself about, de Jong and Barry were both pretty quiet
Lennon - 9 - Very good again, there is no one better in that position in the league at the moment, created a lot, got at Sylvinho really well, tracked back well too

Crouchie -8 - I'm not his biggest fan but he impressed me tonight, a lot of hard work off the ball, great knock down for JD's goal, starting to warm to him
Defoe - 8 - Tracked back brilliantly a couple of times to win the ball, ran his socks off, really well taken goal.

Harry - Got it spot on tonight.

I can't believe anybody would criticise our front 2, they were superb!

Great all round performance, special mentions for Daws, Bass, BAE, Lenny, Sarge, Niko in fact everybody, just thought Hudd was a little off of the pace and Charlie for first 20 minutes.

Great performance!

Some of these ratings are truly horrible and prove that there are ridiculous amounts of people on these forum who either know fuck all about football or just don't understand the concept of how to rate a player's performance out of 10!

I seriously hope it's more the latter!

Dunne... interesting comment... if I was a City man, I would be pulling my hair out, if i had any :) I fully expected Spurs to get beat tonight, pessimism built from many years of experience... I told my City mate that tonight winner takes all... Spurs are right back on track, and Harry will ship 3 or 4 out in January, and bring in 2 or 3 quality signings, centre half, centre midfield and a big pacey striker... then the run-in will become most interesting. What I saw tonight tells me Spurs will be there right to the end of the season... what position I have no bloody idea !!!!

Gnome - 7.
Vedmatron3000 - 7
Captain Scarlet - 9. Proving why some refer to John Terry as a poor man's Michael Dawson. And by some, I mean me.
S-Bass - 8
Dontcha wish your left back was... - 8
MC Azza - 9. Still in great form, final ball has improved so much.
Boom Boom Tom - 6. Didn't think he did anything really, maybe thought Jenas would have come on earlier as he was pretty anonymous late on.
Sergeant Wilson - 8. Few bad balls, one great through ball, but dominated their CMs.
[email protected] - 9. Bargain of the millenium. Well. After Bentley.
JD Trouble - 8
Nikola Zigic - 7. I'll be honest, I thought he was a bit wasteful, like the time we were 2 on 2, with Palacios free on the edge, and Crouch suddenly thinks he's Messi and tries to take on the defence before realising he has all the elegance of a tetraplegic doing the flamenco. But he did work really hard, and got a great assist for Defoe's goal.

Gazza Bazza - 10. Genuinely didn't do a thing wrong. MOM.

Charlie - 6 Defensively sound, its just.....

Just what?

Okay, don't want to sound negative, but as for "winner takes all"?

Remember we were at home.

Sorry

I really thought Lennon was better than Niko. Yeah Niko had the two goals and they were great, but the second one was not really needed and Lennon did great to set up that first one. Lennon absolutely tormented City all night. Not to take anything from Niko, he was dandy.

what's do you want me from me, to congratulate him for showing unnecessary selfish which could give Man City a big chance to back to the game, tell me what could happen if Adebayor scored that following chance ?

I'm person who cares more about the player thinking during the game, if his idea is right and his touch let him down, i prefer that instead wrong attitude or idea during the game. As for Croach, he was too selfish.

which big regret, I'm not like you to judge a player based on team result, my judgement for any player for what's he personally did during the game, no matter how the score line.

I've nothing against Crouch, but i don't like any complacency when we are up, even if it is 2-0, this is the difference between us and teams like Man Utd nowadays. Tell me exactly how we lost two points at Goodison Park then I'm wrong.

Gomes - 7 - Dealt with the little that came

Corluka - 6.5 - Dodgy opening, recovered well
Dawson - 8 - Captain Fantastic
Bassong - 7 - Solid
BAE - 7 - Solid

Lennon - 7.5 - Ran rings round Sylvinho
Huddlestone - 7 - Looked lost in the opening 15, very good the rest of the game
Palacios - 7 - A few rubbish passes but bossed the midfield.
Kranjcar - 8 - MOTM - Superb

Defoe - 7.5 - Good goal, showed incredible strength to hold the ball up several times.
Crouch - 7 - A bit frustrated with him at the time but having had an hour to reflect upon the game he did most things we could ask him to. Excellent on defensive set pieces.

:stupid:

Or you could congratulate him for an excellent overall performance (which he had), which saw him create several very good scoring opportunities for our side, not to mention giving the Manchester City defence problems in general play all night long. I agree that his shot towards the end that led to the Adebayor chance was pretty poorly judged, but that's the reason that he should be getting an 8 rather than a 9 - as I say, to state that he shouldn't even be given a rating is an opinion of such extreme lack of understanding of the game that it almost borders on being factually wrong. THAT far off the mark.
