I was impressed by Sanchez today.
OK some players had an iffy game but the made up for it with goad/assists. Emerson was the weakest link. He lost his man for their first goal

I voted for Dier. I think he's been our best player this season and was great again.

I don’t know who impressed me more sess or winks today. I would say winks nudged it because I had lost all hope in him. Sess though made me forgot salah was playing which is impressive

I think Emerson had a harder time with ndombele defending imo he wasn’t picking up the space behind well

Lots of good performances, and from players we (mainly) thought would be the cause of an embarrassing scoreline. But I voted for Sess. Frankly, if you don't shut Salah up, you don't get a result against Liverpool, whoever you are. I have Salah as captain in my FPL team, as do all of you. It's a rare day that he blanks, but he did today and that was down to Sess, backed up by Davies.

Good match with a high intensity nd good quality.

Dier - 9 - MotM, was at the heart of our build up, pinged the ball right and left to the wings, superb
Winks - 8.5 - some great progressive passing, where did that came from? More of it please
Davies - 8
Sessegnon - 8
Dele - 8
Lloris - 8
Kane - 7 - a year ago he would have bagged a hattrick. Should have sent off tbh
Son - 7 - lively, but his first touch can be so much better
Ndombele - 7 - great assist, not much else
Emerson - 7 - struggled a bit on the right, got robertson to a sent off though

Subs: 7s

Conte - 10 - great set up, worked very good, such a shame son and kane were not at their best.
Makes Davies, Dier, Dele and Winks having good games, sess is having a decent day against Trent and Salah. He could probably find a spot for some user on here in the line up. Top quality manager, hopefully he can push on and is given the tools he wants.

Impressed with everyone today but I’ve voted Sessegnon as MOTM.

Mo Salah is in the form of his life and having a phenomenal season - even by his own standards - but was pretty much silent today with Sess marking him.

That importance of keeping Salah quiet today can’t be overstated.

Great team performance but notable mentions to Dele, Dier, Winks and Sess, great signs of encouragement under Conte hope we really start to push on now, exciting.

Dier, Davies, Winks all superb.

thought Emerson was really poor both going forward and defensively. Will give him the benefit of the doubt as he's just had COVID but he's still a question mark for me.

Albatross - Winks (MOTM)

Bogey - Emerson

I still dont see what Emerson provides that Aurier did not.

Weak on the ball, no pace whatsoever and a very poor crosser of the ball.
I think you all are being harsh on Emmerson where he had both Robertson and Mane to deal with, which is no easy feat. A few games ago he had MOTM performances and was commended. While he was not exactly pleasing on the eye, he did do his job, better than a lot of RBs who have faced Liverpool so far.

I honestly thought he was just really poor tbh. Booked within the first 20 mins, beaten by Mane all day and should have cost us a pen (and potentially got another second yellow). Going forward I’m not sure he even completed a cross.

Sessegnon dealt with Salah far far better on the left. Last time we played Liverpool Aurier was superb one v one against Mane.

I know he’s had COVID and I think his start on the whole has been okay so not rushing to conclusions but based on what I’ve seen thus far I think a RWB replacement for Doherty who is a little less rash defensively and has a better end product could be a good option.

Lloris 8 - Kept us in the game with some top class saves. Get that new contract out to him now.

Emerson 6 - Not his best game but tbf he was against one of the best full backs around. VERY VERY lucky not to give a penalty away. Clumsy. Still settling in so happy enough with him.

Sanchez 6 - Oh dear. Let ball bounce, stepped over it in the goal area and clearences are poor. Needs to be moved on asap.

Dier 7 - Played well. Seems to be getting better under Conte.

Davies 7 - Did well. Very consistent.

Sess 8 - Kept Salah quiet which is no mean feat. Largely due to stopping him cutting in on his left. Why others find that so hard to do I dont know but thats another story.

Winks 8 - Motm, Where has this guy been? Looks a different player. I may even give him a stay of execution if he keeps putting in performances like that. No safe sideways, backwards, boring shite here. He has great vision and can execute it. Quiet damning on previous coaches that they ruined him and turned him into a joke of a player. The difference a top coach makes eh! Conte is worth every penny as he's added millions onto the value of Dele, Winks, Davies, Sess, etc, in just a few months.

Ndombele 7 - A typical performance for him. Great defence splitting pass with the ball, shite without it and too ponderous at times.

Dele - 7.5 - Can he be redeemed as well. Haven't seen a Dele performance like that in a LONG time. Wish he'd scored.

Son - 7 Not his best performance but he's always dangerous and his persistence paid off. What a guy xxx

Kane - 7 And he's off the mark. Could have scored a few more but overall played well and think he'll start banging them in now.

I agree for the most part. Think he’s been dealt a raw hand since joining: seems to get a lot of stick after every game and I usually feel it’s not deserved and that’s he made a decent enough start to Premier League football. Today though, he was poor in pretty much every way.

I suspect he’ll come good with time but it’s a position that needs strengthening. Personally, I’d take Trippier back in Conte’s system…

Lloris 7.5: Made some sharp saves and intercepted dangers quickly. Very keen to move the ball forward for the counterattacks. Can't be blamed for any of the goals

Royal 6: Always tough to defend against Mane, did better than a lot of others manage, but needs to be careful in being a bit rash and giving free-kicks away. Didn't offer too much going forward but wasn't a liability either.

Sanchez 6.5: Largely good, but should have marked Jota better for their first, though not the easiest situation to defend against.

Dier 8: Great performance.

Davies 6.5: Heavy touch for their first goal. Probably our weakest defender on the night. Though did well in the build-up for the second goal.

Sessegnon 8: Defended immaculately down the right and made penetrative forward runs throughout the game.

Ndombele 6.5: Great ball for the goal, but largely anonymous otherwise.

Winks 7.5: Very good performance. However, even though I'm actually a fan of winks, he did give the ball away too cheaply on occasions.

Dele 7.5: Energetic and supported attacks well, excellent movement as always. Should have done better with his chance but was actually a great save.

Son 8: Boring but my man of the match, fight me. He scored the goal, but more than that was a menace all game, opened up Liverpools defence often with clever running off the ball and created plenty of chances.

Kane 7: If he scored a great goal, he'd man of the match. I'm happy for his goal, he had a good performance, though lucky to stay on. But he needed to put more away. 6 shots is a lot of shots for any player. 1 goal is disappointing.

I never thought I would see Winks and Alli in the running to be voted Motm again!!!

Not seen a performance like that for a long time. We actually looked a real attacking threat. I couldn't believe we didn't go in at half time at least 3-0 up and score at least another 2 goals in second.

Good performance all around. People say Liverpool weren't at their strongest, but there are some that say Winks and Alli shouldn't be in the team so we weren't exactly at our strongest.

I voted team effort, as all played apart in making this decent performance.

Dele and Winks had very good games, but I do not think it was as outstanding as others have made it out to be, as they are only performing at the level they should have been doing in the first place, as previously they were found wanting.

I have seen Kane miss the odd sitter but never so many in one game.

As I said earlier Emmerson had both Robertson and Mane to deal with and I thought he coped with both reasonably, considering that these two are two of the best in their position. I think it so unfair the criticism he seemed to be getting from some on here.

Dier and Davies have surprised me this season as both have stood up and shored up our defense to different level to what we saw in previous campaigns. I think both have found their niche, playing in a back 5. We could add Sanchez in there as well, but we still have Romero to come.

I was worried at the start about Sessegnon as I thought Salah would give him a new one, but he (Davies's help) nullified him.

I honestly thought we would have been beaten and humbled by Liverpool before the game, but by the end I was annoyed that we didn't get the 3 points that we deserved. Kudos to Antonio Conte.

I know as it stands, getting in the top 4 is 100% in our hands, but on today's performance I am even more certain that we can attain it.

Good competition for MOTM today with Winks, Sess, Dier, Davies and Son all being quality.

On reflection gone with Sess, that right hand hand side of Liverpool usually contributes so much of their threat and he snubbed Salah out and even got forward to good effect.

Kane and Dele got into some great positions and we win this game going away if either were more clinical.

Lloris - 8.
Solid. No complaints.

Dier - 8
Solid, good use of the ball, our tactics played to his strengths.

Davies - 7
Didn't get the opportunity to go forwards today and if I'm being really critical, maybe should have done better for the 1st goal. But otherwise, solid.

Sanchez -7
One crucial block early on. One moment when he got the ball stuck under his feet which led to a chance for Liverpool. Otherwise solid.

Emerson -6
I don't understand the criticism for his performance today in comparison to Sessengnon. I thought they both kept Mane and Salah quiet and denied them space in behind. Neither full back got too many opportunities to go forward.
Could have given away a penalty and made one poor cross.

Sessengnon. - 7
Good defensively, limited opportunities going forward.

Winks. - 8
Excellent shift in midfield. Massive contributions for both goals. Some lovely forward passes.

Ndombele. - 7
In a game where the tactics didn't really suit him, he did his duties off the ball well, provided a lovely assist for Kane. But did struggle to provide support when we went forward, and got caught in possession on a few occasions.

Dele. - 8 MOTM.
Excellent shift in midfield off the ball, excellent support for the forwards in transition. Brilliant runs from deep.

Son. - 6
I'm probably in the minority, but watching this game made me feel like maybe he's just a bit overrated sometimes. Not great in tight areas. But what he does have is speed and plenty of it. Got a bit fortunate with his goal, but got a goal all the same.

Kane. - 7
Took his goal in a way we expect him to. Worked hard for the team. By his normal standards I'd have expected him to score from Dele's layoff (even with it being a bit tame) and I would normally expect him to make a better pass to Son in the first half.

Moura - 6
Skipp - 6
Reggi - 6.

Totally don't understand the dele, winks comments? Not that great because they should have been performing at that level all along? What does that even mean?

They both had fantastic games, what does that have to do with how they have played previously? Surely it's even more reason to praise their performances? It isn't easy to play at that level when your confidence is low and you've not played well for a long time.

That was vintage Alli other than not scoring and winks was tenacious, busy and creative. At that level there is a future for both at the club imo.
