We defend as a team, when you play with WBS u depend on your midfielders to cover. We simply don’t control the ball, we have not one midfielder comfortable on the ball, never mind under pressure, Southampton walked though us at home.

Shit all round really. Gave it to Son who was our biggest threat imo.

Our defence was all over the place tonight but there were a catalogue of individual errors from back to front. Just have to put it behind us and get on with it.

Son was woeful, loose touches, poor passes and was a fault for both the goals in second half. Completely lost his man on both allowing a free cross into the box

Winks was screaming just to cover how badly he played. Seriously Southampton were awesome they pressed the hell out of us Winks was standing pointing instead of getting stuck in to help. There was a moment Ben Davies decided to press a bit in midfield Winks couldn't be bothered to cover the gaps.

Hold on, I was told WBs had little defensive responsibilty, that’s why we were gonna but Traore there he was just gonna bomb forward and be covered. But now we have a defensive liability at WB.... GUYS we don’t control the midfield, that’s our problem, it’s as plain as day. You want to blame individuals go right ahead but it’s our midfield as a whole is the problem.

Exactly this. They played 4-4-2, but very narrow. We got slaughtered in the middle of the pitch. Conte had to change it and didn't. He subbed man-for-man, which was still an improvement with PEH going off, but we still got killed in the middle.

I just don’t understand why Lucas and Son didn’t drop into midfield for a while to stiffen things up. I guess Conte gambled on us grabbing a few break aways. Maybe if Reggie had finished his chance things might have been different.

Lloris: 8 - Didn't put a foot wrong and kept us in the match. It could have been 5 or 6.

Royal: 0 - One of the worst performances I've ever seen. Even stopped Kane from scoring and played a great throughball through to their striker with another of his errant passes.

Sanchez: 1 - See above but least he put his head to everything. Abysmal otherwise.

Romero: 6 - My word he needs some help.

Davies: 5 - Was OK but slipped for their goal.

Reggie: 6 - Got forward well and was a great outlet. Also love his desire to win and get amongst it. Put in a real shift.

PEH: 2 - Dreadful, leggy, shocking passing.

Winks: 4 - Can pass, but doesn't offer a lot else. Nowhere near athletic/dynamic enough. A pity. Not his fault.

Moura: 6 - Tough one. Was basically our main go forward outlet and got the assist, but did run down some blind alleys. That said, he had Sanchez and Royal behind him, so should probably get a 9 for just putting up with them.

Son: 6 - Quiet but got a goal. That's him I guess, always a threat... but made some appalling decisions today.

Kane: 6 - Passing was excellent and should have scored one... but just too deep when we need an outlet up front.

Bentancour: 7 - Love him already.

Conte: 5 - Didn't react when we were getting dicked in midfield. He will go fucking berserk after this.
