We defended well but never looked a threat once we were down to ten. Gomes made two cracking saves and I thought we'd get the point we deserved in the circumstances. Unfortunately we had the luck of a Juande Ramos side and West Brom pressed well at the end. The ref was man of the match for me as his decisions were decisive. Had he given the clear the foul on Bent he would not have had to send BAE off moments later. The red was a little harsh but that was his call. The nudge on Dawson was obvious. Perhaps Daws made a meal of it. But certainly the big decisions went against us and we will have to hope for more luck and a greater potency upfront in the new year.
Gomes 7, BAE 6, Corluka 7, Dawson 7, Woody 7, Bentley 6, Zokora 6, Modric 6, Jenas 6, Lennon 7, Bent 5.

Reading this thread only confirms to me our so called SUPPORTers are the only real disgrace to THFC.

Kneejerk, reactionary, hateful nonsense.

Tired of JJ and Zokora together. They do nothing to support the spine of our team. No leadership. For all their pace they seem like they are constantly switching off at key moments, when the game can be won or lost.

No support structure. Not alert and not in control of the game.

At least Jenas was passing the ball forward. We should have had a free kick before we went down to 10 men instead of a throw on, that was the turning point and the reason we got shagged.

Oh shut up will you.

Typical holier than thou attitude which I'm sick and tired of hearing.

All due respect, but I believe you missed the first 35 min loading your bong and firing it up based on your JJ comment.

Perhaps you even sniffed a little holiday glue as well, Happy New Year!! :hello:

I brought this over from the other thread -- just trying to have a little fun with our Spurs Despair:

I respect you not getting on the back of our players but genuinely are you Jenas' mum or something? Can't you just admit he had a bad game? He was awful today, like the rest of our midfield and attack.

i only saw from 35 mins but jj was far from annoymous our best mid attack player
gomes 8 jj 7

Im with you mate, a lot of the braindead brigade have already rated JJ, Bentley etc before they even take the field.

It wasn't JJ's best at all, he still frustrates me a lot but I can't stand this war against our players by these people.

Now wonder we're knee deep in it.

I'm sorry to annoy you by simply trying to defend my teams players from the aggressive hate mob that do nothing but serve to make them play worse.

I try and be considered, sorry if you have a problem with that.

Please SS18, I could agree with the kneejerk comment if this was a one or two off poor result. We're halfway through Spurs SECOND relegation battle season. So, reactionary isn't really accurate either.

But, the hateful stuff needs to end. Not liking a players performance and wanting that player transferred out is fine. However, all the violent, truly hateful stuff is not appropriate. For instance, JJ still sux and I want him to leave Spurs in the transfer window. I'd like to wish him the best in his future away from WHL. Please, no death threats or injury predictions. Just he's not good enough and I hope he leaves - end of.

People wishing death and/or injury to our own players (or any players) is ridiculous.

I actually thought Bentley was ok today,. Not amazing but not worthy of the stick he's getting, he battled quite hard. Defence did well, modric and lennon tried hard, Gomes made good saves.

Rating players in a game like this is a total waste of time. Bent was useless but everyone else gets excused because the referee was an absolute nightmare. Not a red card, not a goal, fouls missed, total shower.

Another ref and we'd have three points today so i refuse to criticise the team, aside from bent who left us very toothless up front. Not a one player up top striker. Roll on the transfer window.

Go on then, explain to me what Bentley and Jenas did today? Just because your bum chum DC says something doesnt mean he's right - especially when every other **** is disagreeing with him.

Now come down off of your high horse and try and get back to reality.

That's funny, JJ plays poorly almost every match and the excuse always written is:

"It wasn't JJ's best at all"

Do you realize you have to write that almost everytime he plays? JJ is not good enough.

Nothing much at all, GL(lets not get personal now fella ). I would drop Bentley because he has been ineffective recently, and JJ is playing well within himself at the moment. I'm not saying for one minute they were brilliant today, far from it I guess I just get annoyed when people come on here spouting abuse at every Tom, Dick and Jermaine - It serves absolutely purpose to me at all.

And I just respect DC's opinion, he's braved it through thick and thin for Spurs for years and still remains positive thats all.

Come on General, Happy new year!

OK fair doos, does this justify the personal abuse he gets though?

Moral of the story, dont trust a ****

After the sending off and Zokora went to LB, Jenas went into the DM role, sat infront of the back four. Thought he played ok there.

Bentley was the only midfeilder in the second half that tryed to attack. Got the ball and went up the line, no surport (like Bent) and got closed down by at least 3 WBA players, same happened to Lennon in the first half.

I'm JJ's biggest fan. I know he has all the tools in the tool box, but unfortunately, he doesnt have a tool box to put them in.

Today he was anonymous.
