What’s Doherty wages at wolves? Imagine we’d end up saving (shock) on what we’re currently paying him in comparison to Serge?
As far as I'm aware Wolves don't pay huge in wages (could be wrong though). It's one of the advantages they have in their team up with Mendes where they sign his clients and pay some higher-ish transfer prices but they save on the wages.

It's one of the reasons why I think Doherty would be interested in the move. That said I have no idea what Serge is currently on, so unsure if there will be much in terms of comparative savings. I imagine if Levy is trying to be very cautious with the books (as Trix has alluded to) then I imagine that will likely come from getting Ndombele's wage off the books.

Gathering pace now. Love our targets for this window!
Same, look how successful Liverpool have been buying from lower down in the premier league with Wijnaldum, Mane etc. These are great deals too

I guess 1 place is technically lower down the league....

Still think LB needs attention, but Doherty is an instant upgrade, for me. Part that concerns me is Trix is saying 2 (maybe 3) in as it stands. That still leaves some major question marks in the squad. But, considering how shit our squad makeup was and this whole Covid situation, I imagine that’s probably the best we can hope for.
When he say that? 2 or 3 more or in total?

I laughed my head off when some dope on the ITK thread was bitching about the fact that we're targeting players from Southampton and relegated teams which to him showed we had no "ambition" (dumbest word used by supporters nowadays) even though that's essentially how Liverpool built 75% of their title/CL winning squad.

Spot spot on!!!
Add Andy Robertson to that!

There are some gems in mid table PL sides and Chanpionship sides, MD would be another incredibly astute signing.

If we can get him + a top striker and mabye one other player if we shift Ndomble and a few others then we will be absolouelty flying.

I have to say going on who we’ve signed so far and those who we are linked with I’m very very pleased with our sensible approach to transfers and it seems Jose is a huge factor in this. I also think Levy will try to back him more than any other manager before because he trusts him. In the documentary Levy says there are two top top managers, one manages another club in the league (assuming Pep or Klopp) and the other is Jose.

As others have said if we can make 4-5 of these sensible astute signings for me that’s more exciting than 1 Dybala as the effect they will have all together will be incredible.

COYS. Actually buzzing about Spurs again at the moment. Really hope we can make this signing happen, he’d go straight in my fpl team as well.

Ferguson's success at Man Utd was in large part due to him signing good players from lower down the league. Off the top of my head, you've got Berbatov, Carrick, Sheringham, Cole, Yorke, van der Sar, Ferdinand, Young, Valencia, Rooney, Cantona were all signed after being proven at Premier League level at smaller clubs.

The other top, top manager is Pep that Levy is referring to. It has to be. Levy’s only backing Jose because Jose is asking for transfers that we can do, cheaper fees that we can make back on sales of Aurier, Rose, CCV, etc. If Jose comes in after this and asks for 2 £50m signings, Levy will not be doing that without selling players for £100m.

Is he world class and at the right age? Probably not. I don't imagine in 2/3 years in a post covid world he will still be our first choice RB. But that doesn't mean he can't be serviceable and of use to us during this time and I believe if we do sign him then he will still be here after 3 years as a reliable backup. In the present moment he's also more reliable than Aurier, so for the rumoured price of £15m this could be a very smart deal that goes a little way to patching up our right back issues.

Our worst season in 5 or 6, their best season in fuck knows how long.

Was more a tongue in cheek joke as they finished level with us, which is a good thing by the way, they are improving every season and at this moment are direct rivals.

If this happens as reported we are taking a direct rival's RB to upgrade our RB for only 15M, which is fantastic business

Also this would be the perfect scenario to also bring in Max Aarons as the long term option and current backup. But I'm sure that won't happen.

Or even a guy like Djed Spence who would be cheaper with perhaps similar/better upside? Could even see logic in a purchase/loan back to Middlesbrough to further reduce price.

I took what Trix said as 2 to 3 more on top of Hart and Hoyjbjerg which considering its a pandemic and we have no money would be very good if we can get 4 solid signings and 5 would be excellent.

If we sign:
Hart
PEH
RB
ST

what gaps exactly are there? Not many left really I’d say and Ndombele issue aside no glaring major issues at all, that would leave us with a squad something like:

Lloris
Hart
Gazza

RB
Fernandes
Tanganga

Dier
Toby
Sanchez
Tanganga or new CB

Davies
Cirkin * mabye back-up LB slight weakness but Tanganga can also cover this

PEH
Sissoko

winks
Ndombele

Lucas
Berweign

Dele
Lo celso
Lamela

Son
Sessengon + mabye JClarke but he’s likely to be l

Kane
ST

Id say that would be one hell of a nicely balanced squad capeable of Competing on all fronts.
